A graphic novel-in-process by Hwei Lin Lim. Link. (Or here, just in case that doesn't work, but this latter link tends to lag behind schedule.)

Author's description: "A story about a perfectly ordinary boy with no memory of the past and no urgency for the future who one day accepts a most extraordinary offer to travel to distant places and invisible cities."

My description: Pure surreal awesome. Besides the stunning artwork and the idea of alt-text-only narration, the story is dreamlike in the ease with which it finds insight and emotion in unexpected things.

I wish xkcd would use this hovertext javascript. I know if I upgraded to Firefox 3, I would be able to see the whole alt text on this computer, but I'm scared I'll break something (Firefox 3 crashed a lot more when I installed it on my other comp.) Also, even then, the alt text wouldn't follow the mouse around like the hovertext does.

I've suggested it, but obviously Mr. Munroe feels that the current setup is best. Perhaps it's a universality thing -- Ms. Lim did say that she's only tested her script on some browsers.

Ah, I'm sorry I'm so late! Being inexperienced as I am, I have no idea how that would work, but my winter break is coming up, which means plenty of time to fiddle around and figure things out.

Nicely executed art... it takes advantage of the soft palette available to displays, that would otherwise be muddled in printing.

Yes, there's just so much that's geared entirely toward the digital medium; one the one hand, it's cool and exciting, and on the other, it means fans' avaricious dreams of physical keepsakes can't uncomplicatedly extend to a print version :P
