Loituma - Viimesen Kerran

I don't think I've heard a more beautiful and sad song. I was watching a Majora's Mask LP and they used it for the leadup to the final battle. It was so well placed and amazing I've been playing this song over and over for 2 days now and I'm not quite sure when I will stop.

I'm really liking Esben and the Witch at the moment - absolutely gutted that I'm not going to be around London on Wednesday next week, which is the only gig they're playing around here any time soon - I'd love to see them live. :(

Just got it this week, so I've been giving it a good listening. I rather like the album, and the style fusion is pretty cool, but the album overall feels so uninspired compared to other Decemberists albums.

Christmas Bells from Rent. I'm playing piano in my college's production next month. It's taxing me cause I'm expected to sight read at an incredible speed( both in days to learn it in and beats per minute).
Give me something hard and a few weeks alone with a piano and I can play anything. Give me a few chords and arpeggios and say we want it now and I'm screwed.

I'm checking out Red's new album, Until We Have Faces.

So far, it's alright. However, it doesn't seem to be quite as good as Innocence & Instinct.

I found it mildly disappointing compared to their last album. There's a very prominent Dear Agony-era Breaking Benjamin vibe present in this album, which I don't necessarily have a problem with despite the fact Dear Agony is far from being Breaking Benjamin's best album. However, unlike Dear Agony, this album is plagued by inconsistency.

I was just about to listen to that. Right after The Soft Moon's done. I decided I had to find some new music to like because none of the bands I listen to were formed in my lifetime. It's a kind of noiser, bleaker version of post rock, with some creepy odd bass lines.

After having listened to Modest Mouse's Lonesome Crowded West a lot lately, I decided to take a look at their first album and it's so amazing (well, in my opinion at least). I should have bought this earlier.
