Wow, almost forgot about this game...

I think this was the agreed-upon result-giving order:

So it's more_people first, followed by mpolo. Hopefully we can get something more solid than a 50-50 shot. :/

And not a little surprising. With TLC dying (which was almost a guarantee) and coming up cop, then we know that both can't be Scum or Town, which leaves us with the 50/50 chance we had before, only now we are safe from the RB.

I did briefly look at JC and GoP, who conveniently get no result on them today, but I'm holding off until we get all the results in.

It's the briefly bit. I just looked at who wasn't copped because of the RB's but didn't look/think any further than that at the time.

JC -- can you explain what exactly you're doing to get those probabilities? Conditional probabilities?

I'm also going to spend some time looking through that "scum team possibilities" post... if you're right, there's no way BN can be town if I'm town, so I'll know he's scum from that.

By probabilities, I mean all else being equal.

From my scum teams, I just count the number that a player is in and divide by the total number (for an outside observer).
For the cop probabilities, I weighted each case as 12.5%. If a case gives player1 as fifty/fifty insane/paranoid, then they get 6.25% for each.

Eg. case 6:

scum are BN, mpolo and JC.

VZ was unknown P(S)=8.333...%, P(N)=4.166...%
mpolo is scum P(M)=12.5%
BN is scum P(M)=12.5%
Anchorman was sane or naive P(S)=8.333...%, P(N)=4.166...%
Krong is naive P(N)=12.5%
JC is scum P(M)=12.5%
GoP is insane or paranoid P(I)=6.25%, P(P)=6.25%
webby is sane or naive P(S)=8.333...%, P(N)=4.166...%
Ibarra was paranoid P(P)=12.5%
TLC was insane P(I)=12.5%
m_p is insane or paranoid P(I)=6.25%, P(P)=6.25%

There are 2 of each cop. There is already 1 paranoid cop and 1 insane cop, and both GoP and m_p can only be paranoid or insane, therefore 1 each is paranoid or insane (probability of 50%, weighted to 6.25% by dividing by 8). There are now only 2 sane cops and 1 naive cop left, and 3 players that can be either of these. Therefore, each remaining player is either sane or naive (probability of 66.666...%/33.333...% for each player, weighted to 8.333...%/4.166...%).

If this is done for every case and the probabilities are added, they come out to the results I have in the second spoiler.

The reason that I am not absolutely sure about this is that I don't think that all of the teams are equally likely. If I had to say which, I'd say that the first 4 are more likely, because of BigNose's accusation of mpolo and vice versa. (I still think that the last four are a possibility)

So I still haven't checked out all those scumteam cases, though the ones that I did look at seem correct. To me, the "possible scum teams" list is a lot more helpful than the probability list, though I think your approach there is right, JC -- don't try to take posting / votes into probabilities, as those aren't based on randomness but human choices.

The one thing I do want to know, though, is if there's a specific reason why you've left off so many of the possible scum-team combinations. Can these all be eliminated? I haven't had time to check them in detail, but the ones you've omitted from the first spoiler are:

mpolo, Krong, JC
mpolo, GoP, JC
mpolo, JC, Webby
m_p, Krong, GoP
m_p, Krong, JC
m_p, Krong, Webby
m_p, GoP, JC

You had 11 teams listed that you were able to cut down to 8, but there should be 20 teams total:

1. By TLC's results and death as town, we know for a fact that one and only one of mpolo and more_people are scum.
2. Therefore, we can set each up in a team with 2 players chosen from the remaining 5.
3. So that's 2 * (5 choose 2) = 2 * 5! / (3! 2!) = 5*4 = 20.

Hmm... let me see if I can find anything obvious here.

BN has copped a confirmed town player as scum and mpolo as town, therefore BN is insane or scum. Therefore, for all the teams that BN is not a member, mpolo must be scum.

That means the last 6 of those options are eliminated.... oh, then if he's also copped JC, differently than mpolo. So again BN can't be town with JC and mpolo both scum.

OK, answered my own question, it seems. Will look at those other 11 when I get a chance.

Looking through my results, I found an error:

m_p's P(S) should equal 0%, not 12.5%.

Also, what copping pattern do we think that people should use? The concentrated copping seemed to work, but would now be better used on the other players (ie. a few of BN, Krong, JC, GoP, webby). BN, Krong and GoP may be a good choice due to the fact that one or two of them are scum.

I agree that BN is most likely scum but how do we know that Bignose isn't doing this to save mpolo and frame me by allying himself with a townie. I tried to do a similar tactic in Minecraftia where I claimed cop and claimed that Bignose was town (he turned out to be an independent), that way when they found out I was scum I figured they would they would lynch Bignose too because I claimed he was town. He could be doing something similar.

Ok, lets make the assumption that the scum team is mpolo, GOP, Krong and see what follows:

John Citizen must be naive because of copping both Ibarra and GOP as town.
TLC must have been insane.
BigNose must be insane.
Krong must be naive (copping both webby and mpolo as town)
Webby must be sane because both the naive cops have been taken.
more_people must be paranoid because both the insane cops have been taken.
Anchorman must have been insane or naive.

But this is impossible because both the insane and naive cops are taken.

Therefore BigNose is scum.

I'm not voting yet because I want somebody to check my logic, check there haven't been any mistakes in the table and check the logic of JC.

Oh well, if nothing else it suggests that the scumteam knows the alignment of most or all of the cops by now. I'm going to go through John Citizen's possibilities and check them all anyway, see if anything jumps out, or if there's any reason for the Krong, mpolo, GOP team to be more likely than the others.

Looking at it, I can't see any reason why that team would inherently be more likely than the others, but maybe we need to ask the question of whether GOP, Krong and mpolo could have framed BigNose. It's a pretty bold move in a game decided mainly by logic for BN to claim insane cop when continuing to look paranoid would have given us less information. I still think BigNose is probably the best lynch (it has to be BigNose or mpolo really) but the above makes me slightly uneasy.

I concur with Krong. BN is scum.

My scum list is down to BN, (one of mpolo/more_people), and (one of Krong, JC, webby).

For a copping plan tonight, how about random copping, or concentrated copping on BN? As a confirmed SCUM, it will confirm what kind of cop everyone is. (Except mpolo, as they have already copped BN. They should cop a confirmed innocent. Like VZ. I'm pretty sure we can confirm the last 2 scum from there.

I don't think you can cop dead people... which BN would be if we lynched him, and which VZ definitely is.

But yeah, you're in the same boat as me. So I think we're at L-1 from me, you, and mpolo. And I think we're in no danger of a speedlynch, either, because BN must be scum unless we're all scum, so there's no way a scum player could hammer.

Not sure of a good copping strategy -- will have to think on that a bit.

Only JC and webby don't know any scum for certain in a town position.

BN=83.333...%
mpolo=66.666...%
krong=50%
m_p=33.333...%
GoP=33.333...%
webby=33.333...%

webby:
BN=83.333...%
mpolo=66.666...%
krong=50%
m_p=33.333...%
GoP=33.333...%
JC=33.333...%

So, it seems that in absence of other evidence, both webby's and my own lynch order will be:

BN>mpolo>krong>others.

Considering that BN is 2 away from hammer before either webby or myself have voted, I think that it is important to:

1. Establish a copping order
2. Allow the most likely scum to respond, as they probably aren't all scum.

Assuming that BN will be lynched, which seems probable at this stage, I think that it would be best to cop 2 or 3 of krong, JC, GoP and webby; GoP is less likely scum if BN is scum [P(M)=1/7] so maybe just krong, JC and webby.

For example:
mpolo cops JC
m_p cops krong
krong cops GoP
JC cops webby
webby cops krong
GoP cops JC

(krong should not cop JC or webby twice)
