EBWOP: the game title is turning into french and it is also lacking a day number (or whatever you call D1, N4, etc.). If it's about eels dunno...

Yep. My hovercraft is full of eels. (The standard translation sentence over at omniglot.com .)

I presume this still has something to do with HS's virus, but he did get one email out intact.

I don't have much to say about this beyond that. I think I am getting to where I need to do some rereading, but I don't have time for that at the moment.

Bah... this is mostly just another "checking in, really busy lately" post... tomorrow I can do stuff, so if it doesn't happen then, I think I'll have to request a replacement.

I'm not sure if the mods ignoring my question was intentional or not, in the meantime. Le sigh. Also, I don't think we should be running around saying "I'm not Homestar" like some of these veiled roleclaims in effect are, because that only really helps the mafia in their kill targeting and doesn't help us really learn about your role.

The average number of arms per person among all people in the world today is 2.

The only suspicious thing I've seen on day 3 is BoomFrog's "Test in Greece sblub". I don't see why BoomFrog
wouldn't have just put that in a spoiler instead if BoomFrog had posted it here for the reason BoomFrog gave. (or why a certain player doesn't have a gender posted in the gender thread)

I'm going to have to do a read-through of days 1-2.

I gather that it's BoomFrog's posting restriction. Every few posts by BoomFrog contain something similar.

Eg.

Also, "my hovercraft is full of eels" is a Monty Python reference.

Yeah, I was both summarising the possibilities which I saw, some of which had been said, and pointing out to GoP that Stinkoman is not likely an SK, as that would require a roleblocker with pretty good aim.

You know that little post restriction that Krong has been showing, where every post contains a lie? The one that he said that he seriously doubted anyone would figure out by using the wiki? Well, I just typed "Lies" into the search box there on the wiki. And what did I get?

"Several Homestar Runner characters, most notably Strong Bad, have been known to lie blatantly to one another or to the audience, often in an attempt to persuade others of the veracity of a situation, when in fact the opposite is extremely obvious." (emphasis added)

And that role has certainly not been claimed by anyone…

I really wish I had time to do an analysis of Krong but...

I'm making this post from a library computer because we are having power outages (and I'm lacking time anyway).

If someone else can work up the time to do an analysis I'd be happy to look it over.

I have already done an analysis on Krong, in a bid to get things moving again. I did come up with slightly townie, but I noted that, with all the flavour knowledge they have, they could be manipulative in the extreme. Just had a quick look back, and they have followed their post restriction for the most part, but there are a few posts where I couldn't find any 'Blatant Lies'. Whether it is faked, or Krong had been modded to a more extreme form of post restriction for failing to Lie, or I just missed them, I don't know. I would like to here Krong's reaction though.

Mods: Can we get a definitive deadline, and modprods, to get things going? I believe there are 2 players who haven't yet posted today.

I am assuming that since there is a non-zero number of people with one or no arms, the average is somewhat lower than 2 (but not much).

There were a couple of lies, such as saying he will post more on monday, when it was already monday. But they were inconsistent as far as I could tell. Check either the first or last lines of his posts; thats where the lies are likely to be.

At the moment I am leaning towards Krong for the lynch, but I would like them to respond to the allegation. And the mods to tell us whats happening with the lurkers.

With the deadline, we need to at least get to the 4 vote level. With the weekend coming, I may be a little iffy on access, so I am going to place a vote based on the suspicion I noted above. This vote isn't set in stone, since Krong hasn't yet come to answer the suspicion.

...honestly, I don't really mind being lynched, because I'm putting zero to no effort into this game anyway. But I'm not scum, so...

Is the entire argument against me that I'm inconsistent with my posting restriction? Find a post where I didn't lie, chief. Either you've got one or you don't, and if you don't, don't vaguely bring it up.

IGMEOY: Gopher of Pern

Or if the argument is that my posting restriction is scummy... do you want my roleclaim? There are plenty of characters on the page mpolo was referencing. I'm getting a bad feeling of scum pushing for a deadline lynch right now.

As far as other targets go, I think I'll jump in on the Boomfrog thing:

Vote: BoomFrog

The main reason: Looking at the posts people keep bringing up, I think the weirdness there fits best with Senor Cardgage. Now... I hesitate for two reasons:

(1) I think Senor Cardgage would likely be scum, but he could easily be indy too. Though at best he'd be neutral independent rather than pro-town.

(2) I don't think there would be obvious posting restrictions for scummy players. For instance... if Strong Bad had a restriction that every post had to contain the word "crap", we'd catch on right away.

Still, it's the best I have to go on, other than... lurking. Which everyone does.

Ninja'd... and yeah, like that. So the plan is to come up with non-evidence, then push for a bandwagon based on that non-evidence on the basis that you don't realize it's non-evidence until I'm around?

The non-evidence is at least something. We've been languishing here with nothing for so long, I started to look into the wiki. I obviously wasn't extremely convinced by this whole thing, since I waited several days to vote. Since you seemed to be missing, it seemed to be reasonable.

For what it's worth, I agree that Strong Bad is unlikely to have a totally "outing" post restriction. Because that would be suicide. (In the same way, Homestar wouldn't be expected to have his speech impediment.)

I'll unvote as soon as I figure out a better target. I have to look at BoomFrog myself. The posting restriction he shows might be the one for Senor Cardgage (almost one word and not quite another), but it's not really a perfect match. He seems to post in strange homophones. I can't really vote on the basis of that without some corroborating evidence.

Actually, I'll unvote now. There's no real bandwagon danger, but still… I still want to think that I found Strong Bad by my leet skillz, but that seems improbable at the moment.

Unofficial Votals:

Krong (1) - Gopher of Pern
BoomFrog (1) - Krong

approximately 10 hours to deadline

I find Krong and Boomfrog to be the most suspicious, Krong slightly more than BoomFrog.
This is because I can't find anyone other than Strong Bad who shows up more than twice on that page,
and Krong didn't claim whether or not his role was on that page.

(I would vote Krong if I could vote.)

Wait, You can't vote?

In the interests of making things interesting, I will claim my role: I am Stinkoman!

I am a paranoid gun owner: If someone targets me, I challenge them and kill them. Mav obviously tried to target me last night, and got whacked for it. It's highly unlikely they would try again anyway, as they would have known this.

So that we actually get a lynch, I will

I thought the deadline had passed, and thus there was no use in me voting...

I also find Krong a bit suspicious, but we need to get to four votes for a real lynch (not random) to occur. Who would vote for BoomFrog as well if I vote for Boomfrog? And if me and BoomFrog vote for Krong, we still need another person to come in and vote for BoomFrog. So if GoP could switch his vote, it might help. Or if mpolo could switch his vote.

Otherwise, we're going to get a random lynch anyway, so yeah.

Frankly, right now I'm voting on gut feeling and not fact because I would prefer a focused lynch to one that is random.
If no one else voted, then it really wouldn't matter that I voted, since there would still be a random lynch.
As for deadline... I'll be back in an hour hopefully. I can't predict if I'll be on since I'm sharing a computer with my sibling.

But since the deadline is coming up... hopefully SOMEONE will come in and vote for a person in the majority.
I'll

Not an excuse, but it pertains to my lurking and I'm sure it sounds like one...
Spoiler:
Alright, I'm sick of this. Not the game, I think it's cool. It's about time I finally start playing it.

I honestly should have known better of myself. I was aldetermined to get some sort of super-post analyzing the whole game so far. This was mistake number 1, 'cause there's no way that me, procrastinator that I am would ever get that done in any reasonable amount of time, especially if I had already been lurking in the game before.

So no super post. I am quite figuratively hanging on by a thread here and I'd rather play to the end of the game than sitting on some long outdated information saying "No seriously, I'll post tomorrow" when I have nothing to back it up.

That said, an hour and a half until the deadline, I suppose I don't really have anything to back it up.

So, D3 points of interest, then:

--At first it seemed like greenlover was just posting in the wrong game, since PE, NaR, and Van all actually played Wizardry. However, he clearly mentions the Homestarmy in that post, so it seems to definitely be a result of the virus. Since the virus seems to be spilling wine like it's going out of style, it could still be mentioning Wizardry.

--
Gopher of Pern wrote:I am a paranoid gun owner: If someone targets me, I challenge them and kill them. Mav obviously tried to target me last night, and got whacked for it. It's highly unlikely they would try again anyway, as they would have known this.

Assuming this is true, then either the On Point Kings and Blue Lazer are not the same faction (as the Homestarmy and the CC-dos are), somebody else killed slbub, or Mavketl was not trying to kill GoP. Though excluding a roleblock, I can't see what else Mav could've been trying.

--I can't do much with the lynch with less than an hour left before deadline, but I don't quite like mpolo's idea about lying and Krong at the moment. It seems like a jump to me, plus nobody in their right mind with the possible exception of a jester or a really, really risky scum would claim to be the scum leader.

As a gut feeling, and from glancing over the page, if it's Boomfrog or Krong, I'm leaning Boomfrog. Of course, I haven't been paying nearly enough attention. >_< I have to learn how to get killed sooner. I'm going to try to read properly before (probably) hopping on a bandwagon.

Diddy sat on the porch of his treehouse and curiously tore open the letter. It wasn’t often that messages arrived from so far away as to be brought in by carrier pigeon, and he was eager to find out what it contained. Hopefully something to liven things up, he thought. Things had been all too quiet since those old family friends the Tigers had arrived on their summer break, distracting the Kongs from their usual wanderlust as the clan did its best to keep the guests entertained. Diddy tugged out the note impatiently and started to read. "Dear Diddy," it began. "Help!!!"

Now this sounds promising, he decided. It turned out that the message was actually from his old friend Timber, son of the Kongs’ holiday guests - and the young tiger had found himself in quite a bit of trouble which, for once, wasn’t even his fault. Diddy frowned. Then, once he’d carefully read the note through a couple of times, he sat back and gnawed thoughtfully on a finger as he gazed out through the early morning jungle mist. He’d been asked for his help, so his intentions to zip off as soon as possible were never in doubt. The question that preoccupied him now was whether or not he should draft in some extra help, just in case... after all, this Wizpig that Timber had mentioned didn't sound like a menace to be taken lightly. Eventually he decided that his friends Banjo and Conker would still enjoy the adventure even if it turned out that their services weren’t needed, so the young ape dug out a pencil stub from the mess of his bedroom and hopped back into his seat, whistling for Squawks - his own makeshift carrier pigeon - as he began to scribble out a couple of messages of his own.

A few short hours later and Diddy was on the first leg of his journey, haring off at high speed toward the fringes of the jungle. A couple of Kremling spies lurking behind a boulder watched him go suspiciously. "Hey - where you think he going?" asked Krunch. His crony frowned. "Why?" he asked. "What if he going fetch others? Fight Kremlings?" The second Kremling thought about this, and realised what Krunch was about to suggest.
The young Banjo before Banjo-Kazooie "No way. I not going," he said, and turned and bolted into the undergrowth.
Krunch rolled his eyes. "Hopeless," he snorted. "I go after him, then," he bellowed after his cowardly colleague. "You go tell boss - see what he think of that, huh?"
And with that, Krunch lumbered off through the trees in the wake of the distant speck that was Diddy, grumpily swatting aside vines as he went.

Meanwhile, Timber was trying to calm the excitable Pipsy so that he could understand at least part of what she was saying.

"He said he’d help us!" she squealed, making Bumper and Tiptup wince as the pitch of her voice soared in and out of hearing range. He said he wanted to find a champion to go in and kick out that horrible pig once and for all!" "Slow down, Pipsy," Timber urged, trying to make sense of her words without upsetting her. After all, this whole business had been harder on the little mouse than any of them, Wizpig’s unwanted intrusion having left her family homeless. "Who are you talking about?" Bumper asked curiously, leaning forward. "Taj! The Genie!" she babbled, wheeling to face the startled badger. "He said he’d help! Really, Bumper, he did! I just saw him!" Tiptup blinked. "The G-Genie? B-but nobody’s seen him for f-fifty years," he protested. "I know! I know! But I just did, I promise!" Timber frowned, thinking this through. "That means he must have been kicked out of the mountain too," he reasoned. "After all, we’ve seen what that pig’s spells can do..."
Bigpipsy They all thought of the huge, leering Wizpig mugshot that had been stamped into the mountainside overnight. Then they thought of the racecourses, the island’s pride and joy, all of which had been magically sealed off - and that brought them to thinking of Drumstick, their friend and the island’s champion racer, who had gone to challenge the intruder to an honourable race and hadn’t been seen since. What could have happened to him? It was a total mystery. "We could really do with Taj’s help," Pipsy prompted. "N-no argument there," agreed Tiptup, nodding even more nervously than usual. Timber scratched his head. "Well, I guess you’re right," he sighed, "especially if we’re going to get this mess sorted out before my parents get back."

He was beginning to wish that they hadn’t left him in charge. His first chance to show that he could be a responsible family member rather than a mischievous little scamp at least some of the time, and what had happened? An oversized intergalactic bully had dropped in uninvited and taken over the whole island, vandalising the scenery, shutting down the famous racetracks and stranding Timber’s friends out in the cold. And of course there was whatever had happened to Drumstick... "Well, if that Genie wants a champion, I say we all get practising," Bumper grunted, getting to his feet and snapping down his racing goggles. "Good plan," Timber agreed. "Come on, guys. Yeah, Tiptup, even you. Help should be on its way soon, but we can’t just sit around waiting - let’s get out there and do what we can!" And just hope that Diddy doesn’t mention any of this to my parents...

I was gone, and it appears that night wasn't processed by our other mod.

Allow me to remedy this now. (Firefox has stopped this website from opening a popup)

Wait a minute. Why is there a gun in your hand? Why is that man dead? Where's my Cellery?

"He's in a better place Strong Bad! Or rather, he's in the same place, but now he's got a big hole through him!"

You gather around the body of Cellery and hear his last words, "Bubs...can...I have my leg back now?"

Cellery is Dead.
He was Homestar Runner, Homestarmy.

"We're going to blow up the Ocean!"

"Man, I am so sick of that annoying blue guy. Let's kill him at the ocean!"

There is no way this could end peacefully.

Mpolo is dead. He was Blue Laser Commander, Evil Forces of Blue Laser.
Krong is dead. He was Strong Bad, On Point Kings.

Well, thats 3 OPK's, 2 EFBL, and 1 independant SK. Wanna bet there's one last EFBL out there?

Full list of players with characters:

Dead:

Stanley - Strong Mad - On Point Kings
Mavketl - The Cheat - On Point Kings
Krong - Strong Sad - On Point Kings

Boomfrog - Blubbos Whale - Evil Forces of Blue Laser
Mpolo - Blue Laser Commander - Evil Forces of Blue Laser

ForAllOfThis - Trogdor - Independant (SK)
Hausdog - King Of Town - Independant ('Eater')

Fang - Reynold - Homestarmy (Cheat Commando)
Wooy` - Rather Dashing - Homestarmy (Peasant's Quest)
Greenlover - Onion Bubs - Homestarmy
DaBigCheez - Crackotage - Homestarmy (Cheat Commando)
Slbub - Pom-Pom - Homestarmy
Cellery - Homestar Runner - Homestarmy

Alive:
Chandani - Unknown
Ameretrifle - Unknown
Goochlifta - Coach Z - Unknown
Gopher of Pern - Stinkoman - Homestarmy (If you believe me)
John Citizen - Unknown
Weiyaoli - Strong Sad - Independant (?)
Dotproduct - Unknown
tastelikecoke - Unknown

Likely Roles:
Marzipan
Homsar
Cheat Commando
Blue Laser Minion
Poopsmith (?)

Anyone else think a massclaim will be useful right now? Got 5 roles there, so there shouldn't be anywhere for the last scum to hide. We can simply lynch the most unlikely characters.

It seems there is either a town vig, or a SK, what with 3 kills that night. Though it sounds like they killed HR, whereas OPK and BL killed each other.

Nice to know both the targets I was flip-flopping between were scum!

Another question:

Is gooch even playing anymore? They didn't post yesterday. Mods said they would be modkilled if they didn't post near the beginning of day 4. Will they be modkilled?
