"Saw" the Chicago Symphony play the score to
Fellowship of the Ring, live to the movie. It was about as stupid as it was awesome, and it had hefty amounts of each.

On the plus side, it's pretty much the concert I've been waiting to see for over a decade now. On the other hand, it was at Ravinia, and we had lawn tickets, and couldn't see the orchestra at all, and were listening to it through speakers. So to our experience, it may well have been prerecorded, except with occasional applause. They
really should have shown video footage of the orchestra/choirs, with the movie in a picture-in-picture box or something like that.
There were also nine of us in our group, so
that was awesome.
