Anyone in the market for a couch? A really awesome couch?

~7'4 x 3 x 2'6 or so. The feet come off to drop the 2'6 down to about 2'3 or so.

Okay, so a pretty big couch then. Probably wouldn't fit even in my big room. Darn.

If hendu and I didn't already have four couches between us for our new apartment, I would really want that one. It looks so comfy.

Having been recently Dirk Gently'd with a free couch, I think we are not looking at any couches unless they are tiny, and thus I think our household is also not interested.

I mean, not that we don't miss having a couch wedged in our vestibule for weeks. Because really. It was super endearing.

*sigh* Oh life.

But yeah, I don't think it'd actually fit through our stairway at all with those specs.

I am way too lazy to confirm measurements, but hendu is a jerk and taking his couch out of my apartment when he leaves it, so geekhaus may make a decent new home.

The couch that moves into the stairway all right, but that can't get through the door or back down the stairs.

Is now the bit where we get to cackle and mutter "fresh blood" under our breaths? :)

Cheers, I didn't realise you were headed this way as well, Chuff. Hope you enjoy your upcoming Bostonianism!

I would suggest a welcoming brunch (been a long time since we've done that), though I think we've experimentally determined it is not possible to fit Camberville anywhere for brunch unless it is a) a really tolerant person's house, b) a picnic outside, or c) dim sum.

Or d) you don't mind ignoring the entire purpose of going to brunch with people and want to split your party in seven or whatever ridiculousness.

I guess what I'm saying here: anyone interested in a brunch picnic or dim sum come the new academic year?

It is semi-reasonably possible to fit brunch at my place rather than a restaurant, especially if it is nice weather and we utilize the outside deck rather than the kitchen; also I have really been wanting to have another brunch.

Maybe we could do both?

natraj, I share your general "augh, veg*nism at dim sum" issues, so would be all about doing brunch at your place. Particularly if I can help? I love cooking brunch, but it seldom works in my actual house (the one housemate has very different views on food than I do, and the other doesn't believe in mornings. Or really even early afternoons, if she can help it.) But I don't want to pressure, if I'm unwelcome, either.

You are totally welcome and I would love help, cooking brunch for a ton of people is a lot of fun but also a lot of work! Once the school year rolls around we should do this thing.

We can do brunch for the veg people and dim sum because I have cancer and want dim sum. I mean, imagine if I died before I ate dim sum with all of you? That would truly be terrible.

I can help cook brunchy food too! If someone helped with with an egg substitute, I make yummy breakfast cake loaves.

And I could maybe do a brunch but I won't have much stuff and I probably won't have a chance until a few weekends into september.

Will you have a car, Chuff? If not, taking the train at Pittsfield is pretty cheap.

..Actually it's cheaper than driving yourself, anyway. So definitely come visit.

Definitely no to the car. But yes, getting to Boston will not be too difficult. It'll certainly be easier than it would be for me to visit Phoenix Enigma in Saskatchewan.

Chuff, you're going to Williams, then? That's awesome. :D I hope I'm not making *too* much of an assumption here, as it is the only school in that town, IIRC.

It's my sister's alma mater, and I always loved it when visiting. Though it's definitely a bit of a hike to Boston.

I hope you go to visit MassMoCA while you're out there! (I know you have four years to get there... no rush. But it is quite excellent.)

Yep, that is correct. There isn't a lot else that could be bringing me to Williamstown. I'm very excited.

And yes, I'll be sure to make it to MassMoCA. Also the Clark and the WIlliams College Museum of Art. :D
