Sorry to miss you all. My deadlines are all over the place, and on a related note I still have no monies. One day I'll be free and wealthy at the same time.

Delicious Birmingham folk: I don't suppose anyone fancies meeting up for a game of D'n'D at some point?

Yes.

However, I'm a little unclear on my availability for the next 2 - 3 weeks.

YES!

I've only played homebrew systems before and would love a chance to try some proper Dungeons & Dragons... if you don't mind teaching a newcomer.
Please note that despite the lovely avatar Sungura gave me, I am not a medical doctor.

If we decide a date in the next few weeks we can set up shop in a nice pub with giant tables and delicious beer.
Also, because a fair few people will be new to the game, we could really do with an experienced DM. Someone mighty. Someone fond of delicious baked goods, as that will be their reward for coping with us all.

I have never played D&D, nor anything remotely like it. I am, however, always up for learning something new. So depending on my availability, count me in.

I've played D&D once and definitely couldn't run it, though I could possibly run other things. However, the best I could promise is an out-of-the-box campaign of something, since life right now does not really want me to sit down and do anything other than work or sleep.

I am actually a little offended that I wasn't informed of this endeavour. Nevertheless! I will join.

Guys! You're all invited to a meet-up on the 26th Nov which will be full of dorks and Scrabble and beer. Here is a link to the event page on Facebook if you wish to RSVP and have a hand in deciding a venue, but feel free to just show your delightful faces.
I also invite you to join the associated (newly created) Birmingham Dorkery Association which will be setting up more meetings and cool events in the near future.
Whilst we are there we could also discuss setting up a tabletop RPG in a week or two, if folks are still interested.

What time of day is it? I have a music lesson in the morning which could be moved if necessary.

The facebook page says it's from 1 to 4, but I think that's fairly loose.

Righto. We'll be at the Flapper, with a Portal gun on the table to act as a dorky homing beacon.

Edited after the fact to include a picture of Plasma Man and his seldom seen sidekick, Plasma Boy:
