I created an account just to mention that this movie already exists.

It's called Tom-Yum-Goong, or in America The Protector with Tony Jaa.

Note: I'd still watch River Tam beats up everyone

Yeah, 4 times I think. In my defense I was in Afghanistan at the time but I do think it was a good movie for the budget.

/drool. would watch, but i gotta say one huge action scene would get kinda boring after a while.

Made me laugh out loud. Perfect timing.

Guys, what about the action sequences in Shaolin Soccer?

Nope, they added in the fucking extra part about the queen.

Yeah it is a fucking extra part, she got fucked. Ahahahah.

And what ever happened to that movie with Janeane Garofalo on the space station? It sounded pretty action.

-The ridiculous fight in the first Matrix movie, right after 'I need guns'
-Scene from Kill Bill in the restaurant with the yellow suit
-Yoda's lightsaber battle
-the Battle of Hoth

Post your favorites, and I'll try and put it together.

Well, there's action and there's action. Throw in a car chase, an over-the-top interior shootout, lots of acrobatic hand-to-hand combat, some Jackie Chan-style common-objects-come-weapons, some ninjas, some high-tech gadgets, lots of katana, etc. That combined with a main character that's very nice to look at will not get boring very soon.

Crank kicked ass, but was in '06, and, yes, needed a bigger budget. Oh, right, and comic, pure win. I don't think we even need exposition there. And the badass Assassin from Serenity could stick around too.

Oh, that is so wrong. The whole point of River Tam's Waif Fu is that she's so frail and vulnerable - until suddenly she's not. If you take away the first ingredient, the second loses more than half its excitement.

If such a movie were made, I'd refuse to shell out for it and thereby validate the studio's decision to completely distort a character's integrity for the sake of milking the fanboy craze.

Don't get me wrong, I'd still watch it - I'd just steal it via the internets and watch it shamefacedly behind closed doors. ;-)

Also, here's the long take from Tom-Yum-Goong (The Protector). 4 minutes of action with no cuts. Pretty cool.

No, I also don't like it. It's not as bad as Comic Sans, but it's close.

EDIT: Also, AVP-R looks like it has a few good fight scenes in it. Actually, it looks like mostly fight scenes.

I think that noone would count "Yippee kay yay" as a valid sentence.
:)

You are carrying:
- a slightly paranoid Android
- two left feet (not my own)
- a still unfed and very hungry hippo
- broadsword of +5 ridiculousness stained with the blood of the undead souls
- a stetson Resistol, cuz stetson Resistols are cool.

A minute of "Yippee kay yay" followed by Bruce Willis killing the "bad guy"
Bruce willis surfing on a truck (Die hard with a vengeance)
Bruce willis taking out a helicopter with a neon sign (Die hard with a vengeance)
Bruce Willis taking out a boeing 747 with...something (Die Hard 1)
One of those random slo-mo scenes from 300 (Or 5)
Bruce Willis driving through a helicopter (Even though I think it's been mentioned...)
The T-101 shooting the T-1000 with a bazooka (T2)
The computer exploding and taking out two assassins (Live free or die hard)
A car exploding 10 feet from Matt Damon (Bourne Ultimatum)

Yes! That clip leads all action movies in "stuntmen crippled per minute" and "asses kicked with Converse All Stars."

Tony Jaa needs a breakthrough over here. His blend of parkour, thai fighting, and utter disregard for his stuntmen's health would go over HUGE. The jump-knee to the face through an appliance never gets old.

And he can breakdance...

That's a bit unfair, Die Hard was half an hour shorter than that, and that's with the long dull end credits; I'd say it had an action:talking ratio closer to 0.9. But yeah, still too little action (should've been closer to 2).

Too bad you don't actually hear McClane finish that sentence in DH4.0 - LFoDH. :(

Evil Dead 2 wasn't all that bad in terms of action vs. talking. I watched it just a few days ago.

Transformers - EVEN THE TALKING WAS ACTION. Well, not really. But the whole thing was so incredibly retarded that it deserves a mention here. I loved it.

I think Shoot 'em up will have at least a lot of action. I read somewhere that it had 11 major action scenes/sequences and I'm gonna guess at an average length of 5 minutes which would give more action than die hard 4.

How long is an average action scene?

Excuse to make a giant River Tam reference. Plus, what percentage of Fire Fly fans would be really interested in a pure platonic action flick? It's Joss' writing we're after.

All in all, yes I thought it was a cute comic. Geez-mon, what a soft shell I'm turning out to be.

I like Papyrus, it's purty and omni-present. It's kind of like how I enjoy going to Harry Potter movies and complaining about all the stuff they left out or totally misrepresented.

Papyrus is the unofficial font for all things Firefly. It's what the Browncoats Society (Firefly fan club) chose to use for all their promotional material.

Yes, she is permanently on the show for this season and the next.

At the Atlantis panel at comic-con this year, her entrance got more cheers then anyone else on the cast.
