Frederator Thread! (Adventure Time, etc.)

Postby Glmclain » Tue Aug 30, 2011 1:56 am UTC

You probably don't know this, but I work for Frederator Studios. I don't work on Adventure Time, I work for Channel Frederator, but it's still a blast.

So, here's a thread to talk about Adventure Time and other Frederator stuff (including a show of my own creation which might be getting picked up! ) and whatnot.

So, lets chat away!

So, what do y'all think about Adventure Time?

I only started watching it last week. It makes me smile. I wish it was on the telly box when I was smaller and watched the channel regularly.

Fred (He puts the Fred in Frederator) is so happy about that. We talk about "It's like the good old days!" Then he realizes people mean the late 90's, and he groans and feels really old. Heh.

Glad you like it though.

Don't really watch "Adventure Time", but I did enjoy the earlier episodes of "Fairly Oddparents" and "Danny Phantom" when you worked on them. They seemed to have more feeling; made you connect with the characters more.

I sorta only care about Adventure Time, but learning about how any show is made is interesting.

Can you talk about the show you work on?

One of my friends got me into Adventure Time. He started watching it after serving time in jail. His girlfriend was bored, so she'd spend her free time watching TV and writing him letters. One entire letter was dedicated to Adventure Time and how awesome it is. The next time I saw him, he told me that story, and insisted I watch the show.

If I was less lazy and more artistically inclined, I would make my old Game Boy look like BMO.

The thing I like about "Adventure Time" is that Marceline is ambidextrous. She plays her bass left and right handed like me. I find it distracting that when she turns her body to switch hands, the bass is already switched.

I invested some time in this very cute video game

A few months ago, I wrote:If I was less lazy and more artistically inclined, I would make my old Game Boy look like BMO.
It turns out I also needed a tri-wing screwdriver to take the Game Boy apart to paint the controls, but I finally got around to it. The Bs and Ms on the sides are stickers. The Os are round pieces of velcro tape that the pipe-cleaner arms can attach to. I made the arms removable so they wouldn't get in the way of playing.

The round buttons are the original buttons painted, the triangle is a foam sticker. The Game Boy still works, though there's a streak down the far left side of the screen. I haven't used it in a few years, so I don't know if that was there before I took it apart. Pics spoilered for size.
Spoiler:

Game BMO is not camera

Who wants to play video games? Specifically, Link's Awakening.
Using the flash at this close range makes the pics unusable so I had to turn it off. The colors are a bit brighter in real life, and match how BMO looks on my TV pretty well.
