Las Vegas???

Postby djkjr » Tue Sep 13, 2011 2:18 am UTC

Anyone here live in Nevada?! Namely, the Las Vegas area!?
I just moved here from the East Coast, and I've got to say, it's definitely a different area. Just curious if anyone lives around here, and if so, what's your experience been like here? What would you do? How'd you get started here?
I really don't know anybody here, and it would be interesting (if possible) to see what insight ya'll might have :D

I once got stuck in Vegas for a night with a buddy when his car broke down in the Valley of Fire. We got pretty fucked up and saw a lot of naked women, because evidently that weekend was some porn convention and an electronics show (which were next to one another). Because, you know, it's Vegas.

I applaud Vegas for existing, but man, do I want to stay the fuck away from it.

This city is friggin' ridiculous!
There are vans that drive around with the sole intent on trying to get the tourists to purchase its legal "escorts". I constant barrage of "temptations" to either drink or gamble. The bars don't close. There are slot machines in the gas stations, the McDonalds and Grocery stores (even in some Bathrooms!) When it rains, the water doesn't stay in the ground, and an hour later, you can't even tell that there was even a cloud in the sky. Here, it's a blessing when the weather turns bad! Because that means there is a little bit of (very very temporary) cover from the sun.
Other then THAT, it's a lovely place (the hiking is good though  )
