What kind of cupcake?

So, my company picnic is next week, and the real food is followed by a cupcake potluck. While the invitation just says "cupcake potluck, bring enough to share!" I have been told that the gauntlet has been thrown by some of the other sites, and that it is, in fact, a cupcake competition. So give you your very best cupcake recipes, that I may hand the competition their collective asses.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Cupcake with Marshmallow Buttercream

Unfortunately, their site is reorganizing and a bunch of my favorite recipes (read: the ones I would make if I weren't so paralyzingly lazy) are missing. Baklava vanilla cupcakes with pistachios. Double rainbow coconut cupcakes. Strawberry shortcut cupcakes with cream cheese. Hopefully they will come back soon.

These are not cupcakes, but actually savory muffins. But I still love them. They work wonderfully with mushrooms too, possibly better than broccoli.

I don't really like cupcakes that much... Muffins are much nicer. At least in my (admittedly limited) experience.

The Cooks Illustrated Boston cream pie cupcakes are great, and their deep chocolate cupcakes are also wonderful, you just have to pull them from the oven at just the right moment or they come out dry. If you visit cookaholics.org you will find many threads of cupcakey goodness.

This is very similar to the cream cheese filled chocolate cupcakes that my wife makes, and they're my favorite.

1) Sweet Potato cupcakes with browned butter frosting
2) Lemon Olive Oil Rosemary cupcakes with cream cheese frosting

I feel confident that the other sites will be suitably humbled.

it was only this year i was introduced to the idea of using non-carrot root vegetables in sweet cakes, when my mother make beetroot cake, which is delicious, and looks great because of the red colouring of the beetroot. sweet potato cakes sound just as good.
