Sonofa...! You jammy jammy person.

Last was lovebox last night. Skream and plastician killed it, but I think Miss Dynamite had the most hyped crowd, and it was well deserved.
Next is probably gonna be whenever I next work.

Last one was... hmm. Warpaint?

Next one: Only motherflippin' Godspeed You! Black Emperor!(!) I couldn't believe it when I saw the posters. It's like... well, what's it like? Say, Jesus pulling himself out of the ground, and coming to your random town to push out some merchants from some temples.

I've no idea what to expect. Anyone seen these guys lives before?

Cannot wait. Tingling in places that have never known tingle. Thanks.

Edit: Great night. Sheer wall of sound, very clever stuff. What act opened for them in Norwich? Was it two blokes and a woman playing something industrial? I'm trying to find out their name---they kept stylishly silent the entire night.

My last concert was Paul McCartney, the next one will be Blind Guardian, followed by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Aerosmith, Megadeth, and if I'm lucky Roger Waters. I've pretty much burnt an entire paycheck on tickets. Worth every cent.

Roger Waters was absolutely amazing when I saw him in October. Less a concert, more an experience. It was simply fantastic.

My next will be The Goo Goo Dolls (for the third time, my girlfriend loves them), followed by hopefully Streetlight Manifesto with Reel Big Fish and then maybe Porcupine Tree later next month. Last was Explosions in the Sky.

Next? Not sure. But who cares? I saw B.B. Motherfucking King! I am totally ready to die happy now.

Last: Weird Al, the greatest show ever (the encore involved the band being dressed as Jedi, along with 14 stormtroopers and Darth Vader leading a choreographed dance while an R2D2 beeped around the stage)

Next: Bobby McFerrin.

Like, man. It was spectacular. Spectacular. Like, not even anything like I expected--and I'd already heard people talk, quite extensively about how amazing they are (my friend used "sonic angels" and "human monoliths" and "like, literally, like nothing I have ever described before, nothing I have felt like before--you TRULY had to be there).

Shit was... man. Damn. That shit.
Man.
whoo boy. I think they're in NY soon before they go off to Europe so... if you're reading this and you can get tickets, give 'em a quick listen, enjoy, and buy your ticket.

July 27th, 2011: Allman Brothers Band at the Beacon Theatre, NY
True... It's really just Gregg left, but Warren Haynes and Derrick Trucks are top notch replacements for Dickie and Duane. Special guests (as it was a Hep C charity show): Grahmn Nash, David Crosby, Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead), Natalie Coleman, and ZZtop. Three drummers, godly guitarists, Gregg Allman, Grateful Dead, perfect harmonies, balcony seats, encore, enough said.

August 28th, 2011: My band, Green Wagon, plays a local show...
I play bass, and we currently have sold two albums, but don't buy the one on itunes, we're a lot better now.

Tour's been cancelled which sucks.

Anyhow, I can't remember my last concert because I've been so poor recently. Possibly it was Story of the Year.

Next concert is Letlive. at the end of the month.

"Saw" the Chicago Symphony play the score to Fellowship of the Ring, live to the movie. It was about as stupid as it was awesome, and it had hefty amounts of each. :-)

On the plus side, it's pretty much the concert I've been waiting to see for over a decade now. On the other hand, it was at Ravinia, and we had lawn tickets, and couldn't see the orchestra at all, and were listening to it through speakers. So to our experience, it may well have been prerecorded, except with occasional applause. They really should have shown video footage of the orchestra/choirs, with the movie in a picture-in-picture box or something like that.

There were also nine of us in our group, so that was awesome. :-)

I'm going to see Throwing Muses in London in November. Since they're a kind of part time band who get together when they've got enough money to record a new album, I'm pretty excited to be able to see them.

I saw Linkin Park play Seoul a couple of weeks ago - I was tired, and in a pretty terrible mood going in, so I expected to not really enjoy it, but actually it was just what I needed. They're pretty good live, and Linkin Park songs are good for getting an audience going - there are lots of bits to sing/scream along to. Plus the first support act was a Korean band called Galaxy Express, who were pretty good (and did a move I've never seen before - the guitarist jumped on the bassist's back, and did a piggyback around the stage while playing a guitar solo).

Now I don't have anything planned at all :(

Haha. The show at New Delhi was cancelled because of a bunch of reasons. Mostly because of the organizers screwing up. The crowd going into some sort of nooB rage didn't help either. I just really hope they play over here.

The concert was fucking beautiful. I waited in line for 7 and 1/2 hours for the tickets that were fucking supposed to be delivered to me but NOPE they had a "technical glitch" because of which they couldn't. My body aches still :D But it was amazing. To see the band I've listened to for ten whole years perform in front of my eyes... I really don't love Metallica today as opposed to, well, the Metallica of the yesteryear but after listening to them play some of the old stuff and some really good new songs like All Nightmare Long... I was stunned. It was quite an emotional experience.

Death Angel, Testament, and Anthrax at the Soutside Music Hall in Dallas. Great show, nice small venue, had a good time.

Next show? Depends. We're into thrash metal. Dave Mustaine IS god. We will travel 400 miles to see Megadeth. Rode to California on the motorcycle to see the Big 4. Hell of a show, and covered 2,900 miles two-up in 4 and a half days of travel time.

Just saw the NY Phil do Koyaanisqatsi on Wednesday. It was fabulous and happy-making.

Not sure what my next concert will be. I've seen a bunch of upcoming notices of interesting concerts, but haven't had a lot of time. I actually put on my calendar for this weekend "2 PM Look at upcoming concerts and plan!" because otherwise I'm going to miss all of them and then make sad faces at myself.
