So, tomorrow it starts and I...don't have any motivation what so ever. Great.

Just realised that it was Nov 1st, just now, halfway through the day.

And I have done no planning whatsoever.

Right.

New plan? WING IT.

This seems like it's to be my plan as well, seeing that it's NaNoWriMo Eve and I haven't a single idea.

I like this thread.
I'm planning to try even though I have college apps I'm supposed to work on. But if I'm writing one thing I can write things, right?
...Right?

On a related note, I WANT TO READ THE POKEMON FAN FIC.
I never outline, though I did a bit of research this time. I guess that my novel's not going to be horribly historically accurate, but oh well.

When I'm done (or at least run out of steam at the end of NaNo) I might post it here. Response has been pretty positive for both my stories!

I'm doing Suzumiyaharuhific. Sci-Fi Fantasy Action/Suspense. 473 words so far, but I just started typing. No plan except the main characters' roles and overarching plot. I'm trying seat-of-the-pants, people. It's exciting.

Chaoszerom wrote:Anyone doing the Killer Shovel thing?

I will have Nagato wielding the shovel of death as her main weapon.

Also, this is in first-person present, so I am fucked royally. Prepare for either absolute of the suckage-awesomesauce scale. I'm hoping for 2000 words per day.

In other news:

1650 words. Slow-going, still trying to suppress editor. I should probably write one of the stories first, instead of switching back and forth. I'm also taking time to think out the one fighting scene I have so far, so that may also be affecting it. I'm going to reach 2500, maybe 3000 or over depending on my Focus (psychological), then I'm going to work on homework.

Gonna write tonight while watching V For Vendetta (my wife lets me watch it once a year, since my birthday is November 5th) and then a permanently looped track of Odella. If you have 14 minutes to spare, I urge you to take in the entire epic.

At 1,137 1,709 words, but I still have the whole night tonight to gun it. I'm doomed :D Way way way ahead on schoolwork, so I got this ^_^

Question: Since I'm competely winging this (I know what the final battle is going to be, nothing more (It took me about 6 times to write more -.-)), could someone tell me if this sounds too outlandish?:

I read it. It seemed very 'theater of the absurd' and had a prevailing sense of pointlessness about it. If this is what you are going for, it's shaping up great. I'm not sure there is such a thing as too outlandish when it comes to the absurd.

2469 words, but I think it's ending up too serious, considering the subject matter. I got about 48,000 words to steer this back to wacky. :D

I'm off to a bad start. Right before I was going to take a break, the computer shut down. I had not saved.

I will be saving more diligently in the future.

Anyway, I changed my mind again to return to my original NaNo idea, Queen of Bells. I've written less than 500 words so far, mostly because I took great pains to write the elven version of a rap battle with old-timey grammar and conventions. I won't be writing the rest of it in old-timey, I'll try my best to save that for revision. Let the words flow. I plan on abandoning all pretense of diligence in schoolwork for the next day and a half, because high school teachers aren't annoyingly persistent in reminding you about late work and extra credit and anything that could raise your low low grade should be tried you irresponsible twat.

...

So, I'm pretty sure that there will be a shovel still. I will probably be writing non-sequentially.

Wow description is so much easier to write than character interaction. I feel like I can bash out 1,000 words of description so easily but as soon as the characters have to talk to each other my pace slows dramatically.

I've been considering trying NaNo this year, but I'm kind of torn between a couple ongoing projects too. I am slow enough at them without going AWOL for a month. Maybe I'll mark off November 1/2 on the current commitments and go for the wordcount across them all? XD Worth a shot, anyway, and at least I got a start on something that could theoretically be novel-y. I'll start counting a couple days late and do it thoroughly wrong and give no damns whatsoever. :D
