Seems most of them just take a 10 second sample of the song, unaltered, and then play annoying bass heavy beats and then mix the song in places. I don't want to sound harsh, but a lot of it is hardly "musical" and mostly just thuds and weird sounds. I like my electronc music to make sense.

Adult swim have released a free compilation with some great new stuff. I would also highly recommend Nosaj Thing's Drift album. The beats are more in a hiphop mould but I think you'd probably like it anyway.
