A fellow brony commented during the last episode that applejack's tail being prehensile would be troubling on a lot of levels, and I said "no, she's just using it like a whip." Well, apparently AJ's tail is prehensile.

Rainbow Dash's expression while being 'carried' by Fluttershy, and then when she started flapping her wings to stop dragging. I love little things like that. <3

Sad little tortoise when RD said it should fly.

My bits are on the falcon, especially since the coloring looks like a peregrine.

Hummingbird high fives! I was expecting a beak tap but that was so much better.

Somehow I didn't see either last episode's or this episode's twists coming (well, see following spoiler). I'm going to claim that's because I'm not trying to, and enjoying the reveals more when I'm not expecting them.

When Fluttershy insisted on letting the tortoise compete because he wanted an owner, I was grumpily expecting pet affirmative action, but didn't expect either the "complement > clone" lesson (which is a great one) and didn't realize that, come on, it's a children's show with a race. The tortoise must win.

I saw the tortoise winning, partially because, yes, tortoise and the hare + children's show. (And I was rooting for the little guy!) But I, too, didn't see how it would win coming. As soon as the avalanche happened I fully expected the ending moral/letter to be about how, no matter how much coolness, awesomeness, radicalness, and speed are important to Dash, the thing that really is most important to her is loyalty. So kudos to the writer's for subverting that a little.

I really liked that one, but i was rooting for either the falcon or the eagle, they still seem more appropriate for rainbow, but it was pretty awesome how they used the whole loyalty thing. i always feel sorry for spike with every pony always telling him to take a letter, especially twilight, she could use her magic to hold the quill. WHY DOES THIS CRAP HAPPEN ALL THE TIME!

Anyways, I was sort of surprised to find out that some of the MLP characters share voice actors with Black Lagoon characters. Rarity shares a voice actor with Roberta, Applejack and Rainbow Dash are voiced by the same person who did Hansel, and apparently Gilda is Ravy. I am always surprised to find out about just what kind of characters a single voice actor has done in their lifetime, but these examples were...a bit surprising, to say the least.

Also, I guess I'm a fan of this show now or something. My initial 'insane obsession phase' is coming to an end, but...

About Fleur or whatever, those were my exact thoughts! I was surprised when they showed her and I noticed she didn't have wings, since she really does look like a smaller Celestia.

This episode was nice and had a lot of funny, though it was sort of uncomfortable for me because I'm easily made uncomfortable by the thought that someone is doing something that's going to result in a huge fall later.

I deliberately watched it twice so I could form an opinion of it, because I muted more than half of it from being uncomfortable. The second time was better because I wasn't wondering how bad it could be. It only happened because I was invested in the character which does take a lot of writing skill so I can't really say I want them to stop, as long as every episode is not like that.

Rarity's priorities: in the right place. "Using me to beat up my friends is okay, but my you tore my cloak!" "Eating me is okay, but you're not getting this gem!"

Spikity looks like it might be moving towards a canon couple.

The wealth-size-greed relationship for dragons is interesting, especially since that suggests Spike will remain a baby perpetually (well, at least as long as he prefers Rarity kisses to hoarding!).

Overall, solid episode, though I do enjoy plotlines that end with "the villain realizes they're pursuing the wrong thing and has a change of heart."

I guess I'm just afraid of the show going into more aspects of male/female relationships and we already have so many shows on TV that do that. But otherwise I really liked today's episode. Yeah, that was a very touching moment.

I also enjoyed the Wonderbolts appearance. The animators do a really good job making their flying sequences exciting, especially with the small details like making the camera shake when they fly by.

I laughed when it looked like they were going to do a full-blown King Kong reference, but I think they cut it short for time. They had just about everything in place, but it needed Spike on top of the mountain batting at the circling Wonderbolts.

Still, the Wonderbolts don't seem to be particularly spectacular at anything other than acrobatics. Are they normally Equestria's first line of defence against such monsters?
