Hello everyone!
Mafia, also known as Werewolf (to infidels, we shall not speak of them), is a game originating in real life, but adapted for a forum setting. Basically, you have a small village of innocent people, but hidden among them is a group of nasty mafiosos, whose sole goal is to have at least 50% of the population belong to their organization so that they can control the lynch-votes. Since they cannot recruit people, the only way to achieve this is bloody murder, but not more than one per night. The rest of the town uses their deductive abilities, along with some special roles, to find these infiltrators and lynch them.

To Vote: You must bold it, if you don't and I or my co-mod miss it, not our fault! It should also be on a separate line with space around it such as:

Night—when everything else happens:
People who are not regular townies send in their night actions, discuss among themselves (mafia, cult), etc.

The game will also start in the day phase to give everyone at least a day of playtime. There are no time limits yet, but I may decide to implement them if the game starts dragging on forever.

Day 1
In this little Mafiaworld Town, there lie two gangs fighting for control of the populous. One, a young up and coming group, goes by the name of the Purple Punks. The older, more experienced fuddy duddies, the Sapphire Scrooges, hate the Punks, of course. The villagers feel powerless in the struggle, pawns in a larger game. Until one day, they decide they have had enough and rise up, join forces, and decide to try and oust the mafia! Will they survive? Only time will tell. They only know two they can trust: weiyoli and Angua, who have been confirmed townies for years, as they are never under question, always under the radar. People feel safe with them. But in a town so torn, is it possible to unite and get rid of everyone who terrorizes the innocent? So starts the story of Mafiaworld...

Wow, two confirmed townies to start the day? That (along with the reference to numbers in the flavour) probably means scum are aplenty. Or they are particularly powerful.

I'll look back at the signup post to check for bastardry levels, to be sure that those 'confirmed' townies are certainly townsfolk

Old-timers, what can we expect from an Amy modded game?

OK, so we seem to have two groups who I'm guessing are both scum? They'll be fighting against each other though, which should hopefully work out well for town. Roband - what references to numbers are you seeing (all I see are one and two) other than the fact that we chose random numbers when we started out... Bastardry is a no, according to the sign up thread, so you can count me as confirmed town. We have 18 players - I don't think I'm experienced enough to make any intelligent guesses to the numbers in each gang we're looking at, even without thinking about the possibilities of independents. Also, the lack of a known flavour is kind of throwing me on how to start out with much speculation (I've mainly played themed games before).

Things we can expect from an Amygame: cults. And lots of them.

Usually five/six scum in this scenario. With two opposing 'teams' I'd be more inclined towards two groups of three because two groups of two seems a little underpowered. Not sure I like RR's cult scare-tactic off the bat. Amy might be a fan of cults in previous games (meta-wise) but that doesn't mean we should be outright expecting lots of cults in this game.

Amy's games very often have creative roles that have unexpected effects. She often has some sort of lyncher in play, so I wouldn't be claiming any time soon. She is famous for never lying (but with bastardry advertised at 0, we were expecting that here, anyway).

Eighteen people would usually mean about 6 anti-town elements, possibly some non-anti-town independents. I would go from a working hypothesis that the Sapphires and the Purples are 3 members each. (Though there's no guarantee of that number, of course.) The number of independents would depend on how powerful a town we have. I only have my role to judge by, and it is potentially useful, but depends on a lot of other factors.

I'd be surprised if we had multiple cults - even starting at one leader each, two cult factions would quickly be able to overpower town, unless town was full of the immune or vigilantes, or the cults had nonstandard recruits. I can see some sort of recruiting power being present though (recruiting masons? maybe a master and minion setup?).

As for non-cult spec, 2 factions of 3 seems sensible to me. Of course, there's no reason in theory why we couldn't have unequally sized rival factions, but I don't think I've ever seen it done. In a game this size, I think I'd also expect a sk, and a handful of other independents with win conditions ranging from the normal to the utterly insane. Alternatively, we could have quite a high proportion of actual townies, but who have potentially harmful abilities.

I'm unnerved by the whole "2 confirmed town" thing - two innocent child declarations on D1 seems like a lot to me. Presumably the mod isn't lying because this is a non-bastard game, but perhaps this isn't actually a townie confirmation - perhaps the "confirmed townies" is actually the name of a mason group? At any rate, if we do have two genuinely confirmed town at the start of the game, then there must be a lot of terrifying anti-town powers out there.

Anyways, that's my initial spec. More thoughts after I've read through some of the older Amy games.

Angua, by numbers I was referring to 'pawns in a larger game' which makes it seem like town may be outnumbered already...

re: numbers of scum, my thoughts are as follows.

18 players. 2 confirmed town. 16 unknown alignments.
As mentioned above, I think we could be looking at either two normal sized sets of powerful scum (numbered at 3 - the powers they have balance the two confirmed town) or two larger sets of normal powered scum (numbered at maybe 5 each(?) - the numbers balance the two confirmed town).

Just speculation right now, I guess.

With multiple cults, I'd expect there to be like (alternating days recruitment, when targeted only etc...) recruit power. I wouldn't expect multiple cults though, although one is definitely a possibility in an Amygame. I guess the two groups mentioned could possibly be cults? (It seems unlikely though since it specifies that there are multiple of each group, and neither sound culty).

Another possibility I'm thinking may be likely is 5/6 scum but with quite a few independents that are not survivors. It reduces the town to scum ratio (and not just figuratively since survivors probably will play quite townie) that might balance out confirmed town in the beginning.

Also, if there was a cult, I'd expect at least a hint in the flavour.

@Roband we were only pawns until we decided to group up. Under your second scenario there would be a 2/3 chance that any other person is scum (10/(17-2)), so I find it highly unlikely, mostly because the confirmed townies are even more dangerous.

Also, can I ask that we don't rush through any days? I have a daily requirement/restriction to fufill.

I am here. Flavor pretty obviously suggests two established mafia groups, which to me suggests no cults. Would be surprised if there were no independents around though. I also don't know why you're all assuming they're the same size. 3/3 is plausible, but so is 3/4 or 2/3. The confirmed town are definitely actually confirmed town. This is a non-bastard game.

Also, can I ask that we don't rush through any days? I have a daily requirement/restriction to fufill.
