That got me thinking that this may be a great way to do some mindful breathing. I didn't really know where to put this thread, but I did see a meditation thread here on fit, so I thought this may be a good spot for it. If nobody cares to join me, that's totally cool. I'll just be over here breathing
Essentially, just take some time to sit/relax and be and breathe and post the breaths you take! Here are a few things that I've found helpful depending on my mood, etc and please disregard them if you don't find them helpful. Just do whatever technique (or lack thereof) you find helpful for yourself.
1) Breathing in, I know I am breathing in. Breathing out, I know I am breathing out.
first half on the in breath, second on the out breath.
2) Counting breaths or other more complicated patterns of counting (I like this one especially)
3) Rhythmic, full, square or triangular breathing (I like to do 6 heartbeats per in breath, hold for 12 heartbeats, 6 heartbeats per out breath, working up to 7/14/7 then 8/16/8, etc.)
