This is a song from Donnie Darko, heard through his headphones during a conversation (in the director's cut). It's not clear enough for me to make out words to Google with, but I know I've heard it before. Anyone know it?

I have a request that's been bothering me for months. For a while I thought it was a Beatles song because the vocals were similar-ish sounding but I searched for it for a very long time to no avail. Words that sound like "Oh la la, oooooohh". I can hum it to the best of my memory using syllables that I think resemble the words as far as I can remember. Using dropbox to host my skillful(HAHA) humming:

As the title says, I can't find the title for a game's song. It's the song that plays In Tales of Phantasia (at least on the SNES version) when you come home to your village to find everyone murdered and the town completely ransacked. It has a very nice melodic bass part in it, and, as would be appropriate, it is a very sad piece of music. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, right notes, right voicings, wrong timing, and the second part of the phrase is wrong. The version I've (still) got stuck goes up.

I'm convinced that the timings I recorded are what I remember. I'm wondering now if it was a film theme - or perhaps a film studio ident fanfare maybe?

Ok there's this song: The first 10-15 seconds are just instrumental, slow, which kind of build up. Then a woman starts singing, she sings really calmly, kind of softly. I don't know most of the lyrics, but maybe 10 seconds into the singing, it goes " ... on the waaaater ... ".
This is about as vague as it gets, but it's all I've got, and I love this song! anyone?

There's a fragment of melody stuck in my head that's been driving me crazy for some time now. I have a vague feeling it's from a lighter piece by Mozart or Beethoven (a serenade or divertimento, for instance), but I've gone through my collection and have been unable to locate it. Does anyone recognize it?

There is a song I know from the early 90's 1990 most likely or 1991 (could've been out before then but that's when I remember it from). I do not know the title of the song or who sings it, but some ot its lyrics. It could be an Australian song since, again, that's where I know it from. The lyrics that I remember from it go like this:

"cause that's what I call love.
I found it. I found it.
I will (or should) never have to change.
what I call love. What I call love."

I have tried all of the lyrics websites that I know and none of them has the right song (there are many songs called "What I call love" but not the one I want. The singer is female by the way.

Thanks for your help. I'm feeling nostalgic about this song. I hope I can find it.

One time I heard a classic rock (probably 70s, possibly 80s) song pretty late on the radio that had the following features:

-Cleanish electric guitars
-Clapping
-A main riff that sounded sort of roughly like the old 3:10 to Yuma theme, but more syncopated
-A singer that sounded sort of like Triumph's in Fight the Good Fight, also a little bit like Pink Floyd's singer (the whole song sounded almost like it could have been done by either of those bands, but not quite)
-I think the refrain had a line similar to "can't go back on the road"

Any idea?

I think this was a fairly mainstream song, but my remembrance of it is very poor.

It had a mellencampy vibe to it, probably late 80s early 90s, and the chorus, vaguely, is:

Sorry, I deleted it when I realized that there were much easier ways to find the artist than lyrics search. So I deleted it before anyone bothered with it (I hoped) but clearly I was not quick enough

What's the background to this?

A comment says Apocalyptica, which was my guess originally too, and it definitely sounds like them. But I can't find the actual track on Spotify. (It doesn't help that it seems to have about 5 different versions of each album.)

I spent some time with some norwegians this past week. They listened to a band that I thought was pretty awesome, but I didn't get the right name (or something).

They were pretty poppy - very well produced. The sound was a really interesting mix of everything - folk/reggae/dance/rock. The iphone it was playing from said the band was "hot maestro" (i thought), and the norwegians said they were swedish (they sang in english), and there were "something like 15 members in the band".

Any clues? I assumed they were popular (good, but pretty standard pop), but "hot maestro" doesn't give any google hits so I guess that name is wrong.

Right, I don't suppose anyone here might happen to be able to identify the bit of music playing here? I had a go with Shazam, but that bore no fruit, and now the damned thing's become an earworm I'm itching to know what it is... hilariously enough, the comments are filled with people asking for identifications of music at other points in the programme, bar this one section.
