Activity seems high in the last 6 hours. Maybe reddit should blackout more often!

Hey, I have a snow day. That's why I'm posting.

Hogwarts
Spoiler:
PEOPLE CAN'T READ/ REMEMBER STUFF AT ALL. COME ON PEOPLE.
Really... in the sign-up thread, it said Hufflepuff would be doctor. Dunno why Adam jumped to Ravenclaw. Powers are weird like that.

Firefly
Spoiler:
So, River opened up a private PM chat with me. But they have to talk River-like. And they can't reveal their identity.
Of course, since I'm Simon, I know who River is, so it should work out.
Also, I need to look up this Mr. Universe guy.

I'm making mistakes about as often as I do as a player. But as a player that can get you lynched, as a mod it can ruin everyone else's fun. I am endeavouring to do better.

Neighbourhood:

Missing a vote because of improper formatting is normal. The players tend to pick you up on it anyway. If you miss it and it causes a difference in the lynch, its the players fault for not having the proper format!

Still Neighbourhood:
Spoiler:
Thanks GoP. It's not the only error I've made, I just managed to sweep some of the others under the carpet. I always knew I'd be making mistakes, I just wish I didn't :P At least I was smart enough to start modding with something small and simple like this - imagine if I'd decided to go with something like Hogwarts or Firefly!

Also Neighbourhood, but on a different point:
Spoiler:
Votes so far are definitely interesting, as are people's scumdars - some people are dangerously close to the truth and what happens tonight may well seal the deal. Still, plenty of time for someone to screw up and find themselves at the wrong end of a piece of rope.

Hogwarts:
Spoiler:
Interesting. I was hoping that they wouldn't claim houses, as it doesn't help town too much, and could hurt them, as scum could then pick off the houses easier. I was hoping more for people using their powers and deduction skills to work out who is in what house by the house points totals.

I'm also worried that I might have overpowered scum. There are only 3 of them, but I gave them some pretty good powers, and that along with the fact they can sorta control town powers makes them pretty good.

When I first suggested the mechanic of neighbour nightchat, people pointed out that it often isn't a great mechanic. Maybe not, but it makes for great reading when you know who's talking to who! I will definitely be asking permission from the players to post the PMs in a Google Doc once it's all over.

Would you believe, the only conversations right now are between the scum and their neighbours? And the only night action submitted so far is the kill. Every time I take another look at the game, it seems to be going well for a different side - which I take as a sign that the game's going well. Still, it would be funny if the only reason town catches scum is because scum have no townie night actions to hide behind!

Firefly
Spoiler:
Who is SecondShadow? Apparently new out of nowhere but is reminding me of someone....cant put my finger on who, but must have been someone I used to play with. Hopefully with more posts Ill get a hint...maybe i will try and prod them into responding to me with something in the thread. If I can get some interaction going that will help because assuming SS is someone else who I used to play with on this forum they would then respond to me similarly to how they did before. I think I can use this to my advantage...Im getting an MoA, NaR, or Brook feel from them thus far in which case interaction with them should prove...sparky! I think I will try and poke them to some anger at me and see....lol maybe just calling them out on being one of those would be enough.

Being this is firefly I didnt think of it have movie-characters in it. Either I am wrong in this or perhhaps mpolo or greenlover is mr universe. mpolo was the first to bring it up, which is actually less suggestive as greenlover seemed to jump right on agreeing with it. Gonna watch that and see what happens. I have piqued interest.

Also is it just me or did MrFace go on forever about revers in his post while only mentioning others slightly? Also his ideas on the revers struck me as rather odd, and rather specific. If prior gameplay is any suggestion too, he seems to talk the most about what he is. I am probably going to try to lead a lynch on him today. Revers can't be good for anyone. Best to be rid of them fast.

Spoiler:
I wonder who else is actually using their night chat. I have the bad luck of living between Roband (who I found scummiest) and Vieto (a corpse). I suspect that if Roband is town then he's using any available power on me. So here's hoping that there is a nightkill, or else I'll look real scummy. Of course, if there is only neighbour kill, living between these two could be my saving grace. Also vaguely wondering what chances are of ConMan not giving out any town powers.

always interesting....mix of people who have NO CLUE as to my history (like calling all the scum and all the indies day one at least by end of day two more than once) and some who do. I know I know what I am doing...faot can call me crazy but SecondShadow I HAVE played with before by another name. Okay so my book idea was weird but I didnt know they were in Hogwarts too. Sans that info, it makes more sense. Really I was trying to come up with something to make them talk and get mad at me :P It worked but the wrong person took the bait...

Hogwarts
Spoiler:
Thinking about the game, I realized something: I don't really know if we have a town win condition again. Looking at the house PM, there was nothing which stated "You win with __" or "You win with ___" there. And now I'm thinking town got a separate PM as well telling them about their win condition. Which would justify Lataro's role being a jester (if everyone got two role PMs, then Lataro could get a jester PM), but hey, I'm not going to point this out in thread.

I wonder... is Lataro Peeves-like? That would be interesting.

Firefly
Spoiler:
I almost had a heart attack when I read the posts about Amy being psychic. You see, Amy is River. I can't believe that she has such good meta-reading skills, though.
She hasn't sent me anything since her last PM, and it's a good thing, too, considering how weird and confusing the whole thing is. Unicorns turning into narwals? What the hell does that mean?
The game's going slow, typical of D1 in closed games. Probably should make a post there about... something.
Anyway, thinking about possible usages for my power. Since it's an odd night, I can either doctor someone or roleblock them by making them go crazy (I think that's based off the time Simon drugged Jayne to stop him from doing stuff they didn't like). On even nights, I have mason chat with Kaylee. ;)
Probably going to go with doctor. Too many powers are flying around in this game to risk roleblocking a townie action. I guess there could be a vig kill, but I think SK/scum is more likely.

It's pretty crazy that I'm the same role in all three games. Is it a coincidence, or is there a conspiracy going on among the mods? :) Sorry I can't say what role, the possibility of an anti-town spoiler reader in Firefly sorta ruined it for all you honest folk.

How did I not get lynched? Surely avoiding voting is a sign that I'm the one with a negative vote. :P

I'm pretty sure GoP is the last Sapphire scum (that magenta thing was a genuine mistake btw), so I'm killing him tonight. Unfortunately he's going to kill me as well, so Misnomer is going to be the only player who wins (I'm making the assumption that his claim was true). Unfortunately that's unavoidable - it's a Prisoner's Dilemma type scenario where we could share the win if we agreed to kill Misnomer and not kill each other, but individually, we both do better to kill the other.
