Oh right, I forgot that part. That the town often doesn't believe - right after they say they do - and then they try and lynch me. Forgot that part.

Except...maybe they aren't town..........considering the two who spoke up know my "meta" as it were, methinks someone is scared....very scared indeed.

Dammit, this paints a big target on me to attack, but it's bugging me and I can't just let it go, especially if it is true.
Oh well, at least I can doctor myself if there's a lynch. It wouldn't be the greatest idea, since it would reveal my role, but it would prevent me from dying.

Oh wait, does this sound impossible? That's right, I've been lying heavily in the spoilers.
If town is reading this: Sorry town, I didn't think that I could give you useful information until I had already set the trap.
If scum is reading this: MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
If independent is reading this: Hi? If you're pro-town, sorry, otherwise... *points to evil laughter*

Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go back to making very. vague. spoilers about everything.

Neighbourhood
Spoiler:
If anyone is watching, here's a heads-up on what is happening here.
I'm scum. So is roband. The neighbourhood make-up is mostlynormal-t1mm01994-mpolo-BoomFrog-roband-mostlynormal. I've had an interesting nightchat with MN, which made me able to convince him that BF was scum, hence the early FoS. I'm now diverging onto mpolo, because he claimed his cop with me as scum result... Which obviously was something I couldn't use very well. So I counterclaimed, knowing that MN would probably back me up pretty well, and I had roband to actually back me up in case MN decides to vote.
Thing is, I'm tying myself to MN so that IF I fall, roband will be the "doubting 3rd" picking between 2 mafia combos. If he NKs BoomFrog, mpolo gets to choose between MN, who attacked him at D2, and roband, who doubted and in the end voted scum. That's not a very hard choice, in my opinion. If I can get mn to vote for either of BF or MN, we're done here.. So yea.

That was the heads-up on everything from my side. Stay tuned to see what else happens.(Oh. roband has the NK for today, so I'm making sure focus either goes to me and then it works D3, or focus goes to someone else. At least I kept roband out of the fire quite succesfully :) Let's hope BF doesn't foil this like he did with the "can only kill neighbours" stuff.

Ooh, and ConMan? Lovely game.

Modding zombies: I'm sad that my signature + helpful signup thread + "zombie apocalypse" name (I picked the flavor just because everyone loves zombies!) has yet to attract any newbies. I know there's several signups all going at once, but I was hoping I could attract enough new folks so that it wouldn't be cutting into the other games. Any suggestions on enticing new people? Should I tweak any of the wording?

I'm assuming my vote didn't go through? Or, at least, that's what the discussion was about?

Firefly
Spoiler:
So, hello, spoiler readers! I thought I might as well explain why I claimed Mal so close to deadline. I can't think of a way for scum to use this against me, so town would enjoy this.
First of all, to any of those who might think I'm falseclaiming: remember when I posted that the only roles confirmed are Mal, Zoe, and the Reavers? Do you really think as scum or desperate town I would claim a role which seems like to be 100% in the game?
I decided to claim Mal even though I risked the chance of death because it made more sense to save town from a townie lynch and force scum to use the kill against me, rather than for a townie to be lynched and then more to die at night. I don't like to claim, but it seemed useful, and if anyone gets pissed, I'm going to point to FAOT as a counterpoint. He claimed with like two votes against him with a good time to go until deadline, and no one seemed to think that was weird, so if I, who was in the majority with deadline fastly approaching, get slack for this, I'm going to be pissed.
This is only because I could die and now if there is a town spoiler reader, they can understand my intentions. And scum can too, which is great for them, I guess...

Re: The Gojoe Memorial Mafia Discussion Thread

Postby webby » Mon Jan 30, 2012 11:43 pm UTC

There are only two games going at the moment (plus Zombie that looks like getting the players to start soon), I might run Resistance as a turbo if people would be keen for that?

I'm adding a few powers that will be distributed to scum at the start of the game - right now I'm thinking of giving scum some of these powers (will randomise), each usable once:

1. Immunity to investigation for the mission phase
2. Scum chat for the duration of the mission phase
3. A strong leader power, except that the user chooses who the leader is
4. Immunity to investigation for one mission cycle (ie immunity to overheard conversation)
5. Planting evidence on someone such that they appear to investigations to have failed a mission

I'm thinking give scum three of these powers.

What I'm considering is whether it's balanced best if I give these powers to individual players, or if I say that any scum player can use them. I'm thinking individual players at this point, I don't want to make the spies too overpowered. There should be enough wine around from the prospect that a player could have used such a power.

The other main alteration is Lataro's suggestion that only three consecutive team rejections make town lose. However, so it's not too easy for scum to achieve this, I'm making it so that a team must be proposed (failure to propose a team results in a random team).

1 day for scum to chat at the start
3 days per team selection, 2 days for the second selection if the first team gets rejected, 1 day for third selection
1 day per mission phase

This could take more than the 21 days allowed for turbos if all five missions are required and there are a few rejected teams, but I doubt it would go beyond a month. Given there aren't any turbos in the queue I don't feel too bad about this.

Obviously being a turbo, I'll require high activity, preferably at least 1 post per 24 hours. To minimise the effect of lurkers, I'm going to make the default to accept rather than reject a team, but I'd rather have one or two replacements up my sleeve because this game more than most is ruined by lurkers.

Any thoughts from those who have played (or watched) it before? Flavourwise I'm going to heavily plagiarise Jayhsu. :P

I would love to set up a Wheel of Time game if there is enough interest, but I don't know how to gauge that.
(I figure if this isn't the thread to ask, it's at least the thread least likely to be sidetracked by my asking and most likely to get this seen by someone who can point me the right way.)

It's actually really hard to gauge people's interest. It's kind of like asking someone out on a date. Just put the game into signups and see what happens. Don't take it personally if you don't get enough to play, but it's very possible that you will.

Personally I'm not a big fan of WoT though.

By the Light! I'll gladly play a WoT game. Curse those bloody forsaken and their bloody shadowspawn...
