Reminder: we have several rules that people seem to forget.
1. Read the sentence from the last post once quickly and close the spoiler immediately after that.
2. Reproduce the sentence from your memory, as faithfully as you can.
3. Refactor what you've written to meet all of the following requirements.

• It must be exactly one sentence, with at most two commas and no other punctuation.
• More than 17 (i.e. at least 18) words. Apply creativity if this requirement is not met.
• Less than 28 (i.e. at most 27) words. Remove whatever seems best if this requirement is not met.

As for the new suggestions:

With that I'm also fine. Let's say additions are required when you faithfully produce less than 18 words, forbidden when more than 26 words, and allowed in between. The opposite applies to removals: forbidden when less than 19 words, required when more than 27, and allowed in between.

I don't know, 5 or 6? And the same means exactly the same? After 5 or 6 posts it's up to the next poster to start a new sentence? But if they don't and make a mistake in their reproduction than we have to wait for another 5 or 6 in a row? I don't know, just my suggestion.

LOL that sentence was so unexpected I had to restrain myself not to re-read it... obviously I was suffering a lack of focus.

@undecim: I would say it depends on the typo. If the typo results in one word being changed into another (like in your case), then you may consider it a creative mutation and I don't mind if you leave it as is. If the typo changes a word into a badly spelled version of itself, I think you should just fix it.
As indicated in the OP: you are allowed to use backspace, and well-crafted posts are preferred.

I added this nuance on undecim's suggestion to be a bit more liberal with additions. Of course the rules are only guidelines to maintain a sensible sentence that is long enough but not too long or too complex, so you can pick your own personal playing style.
