Well if every other post wasn't the same person...
Perhaps we could allow arbitrary additions to the sentence?

I'm fine with such a rule. Define 'X' and 'the same', and if nobody disagrees I'll add it to the OP.Oflick wrote:How about a new rule? If the sentence stays the same after X amount of posts, a new sentence is created.
With that I'm also fine. Let's say additions are required when you faithfully produce less than 18 words, forbidden when more than 26 words, and allowed in between. The opposite applies to removals: forbidden when less than 19 words, required when more than 27, and allowed in between.undecim wrote:Perhaps we could allow arbitrary additions to the sentence?

I don't know, 5 or 6? And the same means exactly the same? After 5 or 6 posts it's up to the next poster to start a new sentence? But if they don't and make a mistake in their reproduction than we have to wait for another 5 or 6 in a row? I don't know, just my suggestion.

Sure.
I think this is a good point, I'll add something about this to the OP as well.Oflick wrote:Jplus wrote:She wrote:Am I now allowed to go look through the spoilers from early posts?
Sure.
I do that, but occasionally I get them mixed up. That's why some of my contributions bring back things that were lost in the last post, so now I only read the last one and don't read the others until after I post my own reproduction.

Basically, yes, this is what I meant to say,Oflick wrote:Jplus wrote: Word additions are required when N < 18, forbidden when N > 26, and allowed in between. The opposite applies to word removals: forbidden when N < 19, required when N > 27, and allowed in between.
Wait, so I can add words freely? So long as it's not more than 26?
but this is also true.Oflick wrote:Or is this just trying to tell me I don't have to write the whole sentence out in one go, I can look over it and add words if I remember them?
I added this nuance on undecim's suggestion to be a bit more liberal with additions. Of course the rules are only guidelines to maintain a sensible sentence that is long enough but not too long or too complex, so you can pick your own personal playing style.Oflick wrote:I was going to wait a few post before contributing again, but I hadn't noticed this rule so wanted to clarify.
