Banking on a hammer ending the day - otherwise would be silly, and I've not seen it mentioned anywhere.

You ready?

Vote mpolo

Cheers. Massive slip up on the first day from both of us - rescued fairly nicely.

Damn you roband, if you were here earlier this would have been a win 2 days ago.. Still wondering, MN, why did you trust me? mpolo had me figured 99%, said everything convincingly and all I said was an unargumentated "Gee Willikers SCUM"..

Lol, I checked in while I was away (I managed to find a spot in the Zoo, with decent signal) and got excited when I saw that MN had voted mpolo... then he unvoted :( So I decided to wait until last night to show up.

Worked out alright in the end.

Seriously, but one man cannot win by himself.

@Conman, thanks for the game. Well run. Can you post everyone's roles?

You lynched the wrong one of us first ;)

By not wanting to lynch Vieto, I knew I'd look good on D2.

I still maintain that BF's vote on me wasn't that warranted - your vote seemed fine to me.

Yeah, everything I said towards the end was me bullshitting, trying to delay my real posting - to give MN a chance to revote.

Glad it worked out.

That was some impressive scumplay there. Even if tim had been lynched, I don't reckon they'd have got Roband on day three. And that neighbour chat seems to be a very powerful weapon for scum, although maybe that was towns fault for not using it among ourselves.
Tim, just one question: why did you kill me first? Was it because of my vote for roband, or because I was acting too towny?

Thanks Conman, that was a good game, even for just spectating.

TMG: me killing you first was part of my big masterplan. I actually submitted BF as first target, because well, he's dangerous. Then I spoke to MN and he had a suspicion of mpolo. I figured I could use that to accuse both mpolo and BoomFrog.. And I knew that if I'd do something to accuse them MN might very well follow me. And if I killed MN I didn't have anyone to follow me for the 3rd vote, if I killed BF or mpolo I wouldn't be able to pull off them being a scum team. Read the spoilers, I typed some stuff in there too ;)
btw, high-five to roband now :P

Just for officialness ...

Votes:

mpolo - 3 - t1mm01994, mostlynormal, roband
t1mm01994 - 1 - mpolo

mpolo has been lynched.

Protesting all the way, mpolo was taken to the lynching grounds (located in a copse of trees in the neighbourhood park.

"You don't understand! It’s got to be t1mm! He’s the scum, not me!"

Mostlynormal was sympathetic, but unhelpful. "That's as may be, but you know that's not how we do it around here."

After the lynch, everyone was prepared to go back to their homes, but t1mm suddenly turned to roband.

"I think we got this one, partner."

"I think you’re right. Listen up, folks! This neighbourhood’s officially under control of the xkcd mafia! Thank you for your cooperation."

Town cannot counter scum. Mafia win.

Thank you everyone for playing, and well done mafia for such a well-played finish. I will link to documents covering roles, night actions and other stuff shortly.

In addition, I would like to document the PMs sent to neighbours. Could I please get permission from those who sent them?

Argh I feel so stupid now. Sincere apologies to mpolo and Boomfrog, and very well played T1mm and Roband. Town played pretty okay except for me. I think my philosophy now is to look for those who are acting scummy and then consider them town, because real scum would be playing too carefully to slip up.

T1mm's making it sound like he cleverly manipulated me into think BF and mpolo were scummy, but that's not true. I was thinking all along that the only two remaining town were the two scum. Stubbornness just took it from there. My scumdar is really messed up.

By the way I'm a doctor. My position really sucked though, being between two scum. It would've been perfect if I was a cop.

I wouldn't mind the PMs being released.

Also, for those wondering (and unable to make sense of the spreadsheet), everything was decided randomly as follows:

1. I assigned everyone two random numbers. Sorting by the first gave me the house numbers, sorting by the second I chose the first two as scum.
2. I listed all the town power roles, plus five Normal Neighbours, sorted them randomly and assigned the first 7 of those to the respective houses.

So, had they not been scum, roband would have been a Nocturnal Neighbour (immune to night actions but always spotted by a Nosy Neighbour), while t1mm01994 would have been a Normal Neighbour.

Permission granted.

For everything else:
Roband, was the MN vote a "He's my neighbour" vote? It seemed that way.. If so, awesome. I spotted it, just not needed to act on it..
BF, mpolo, I was really surprised how the both of you just allowed me to "fit everything inside" you too being scum. Basically you could do anything (attack eachother/defend eachother/ignore eachother) and I could easily turn it into a scumtell.. And you didn't go "Gee Willikers you can do this with anything just OMGUS die"...
MN: I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to make it sound like I manipulated you. It was more of a "well, this is convenient, let's work from here" kind of thing. I figured the 3-2 thing and "let's vote mpolo" would have pinged you, at least I was pretty nervous there. It worked out, at least.

permission granted I think implicitly by playing. but whatever thanks for asking. :p

MN: now you know how confusing it is to be town so you can mimic it better when your scum. :)

If MN had voted for t1mm I think we would have lynched Roband D3. I really should have just full claimed earlier.

Btw, MN Roband refusing to claim his rolename was SUPERDUPPER suspicious. I can't criticise you for getting fixated on an early hunch though. I've done that plenty as well. :p

I think that's everyone who PMed, so the document has been added to the collection with a link here.

Also, any comments or suggestions on the Neighbourhood format? I quite like how the game went so I'd like to run another one in the future, but possibly with some rule tweaks. And maybe some of the Neighbours we joked about before the game started will find their way in ...
