I kinda know the answer to this question. Build back up the muscle with resistance exercises first and just take it slow from there. Light weights and resistance bands via PT and swimming should do the trick.

I just got myself some resistance bands. The running thing is more mental right now. The knee is pretty stable and is feeling pretty good. As a parent of an 18 month old, I do a lot of squats with eccentric weight resistance.

Awesomeness: My wife and I are going to Costa Rica in May. It's going to be totally rad.

I got it in the mail the other week and I just opened it up today. It's just as awesome as I remember! Should I scan some of the illustrations? The temple precinct illustration takes up two pages and shows the two main temples in Tenochtitlan with the blood running down the steps.

Today I was productive. Super productive by my standards in fact: I went to the shops and got the food and soap I need, did all the washing up in the house (seriously, there was a lot; it took about 4 hours, or more if you include breaks), washed two loads of clothes and got myself squeaky clean with a nice, extra-long shower. As a bonus, I also found a new great outfit out of my clothes that were actually clean this morning, but that was just luck so I'm not gonna count it. Makes things extra awesome, though!

awesome: my car is almost fixed! it was a royal pain in the ass to dissasemble the engine i found in the junkyard and replace the parts on it that needed replacing, but it is almost ready to drop in my car! YAY.

tell that to my bruised and scraped knuckles, and the strewn apart hunks of metal that used to be a valve train and pistons.
all because they decided that plastic was a good material to build an absolutely essential, and if it breaks you are screwed part out of.

as you may have guessed, engine overhauls because the original people who designed the thing did not think, are not fun.

but i will not dwell on this.

I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Limited and my check engine light has come on for the fourth time in the year I've had it. I'm going to have to replace an O2 sensor again.
