I'll post it here, although specifics will need to be kept quiet.
It doesn't seem like there has been a D&D mafia game run here (It was brought up a couple of years ago but doesn't seem to have got past discussion) so I thought maybe a setup like this could work:
Dungeons and Dragons MafiaMod: TheMaskedGecko
CoMod: See below*
Size: 15-27 but the more the merrier (medium/large depending on interest)
Setup: Semi-closed (no extra info given publicly that isn't in this post; see bastardry)
Bastardry: Some: mod doesn't lie and neither do PM's but there are some interesting powers
Flavour: generic quest-to-save-the world stuff
Gameplay: Inspiration from
http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD3e:System_Reference_Document.
All players will be given a Standard Class, each with a unique, individual power. This class will also limit the Skills they can unlock.
SkillsExperience points will be granted on grounds of contentful posts, as well as taking part in violent encounters (see below). When a sufficient number of points have been earned the character will level up and be able to choose one out of three randomly selected skills (eg. a barbarian could be offered a choice of Craft, Intimidate or intuit direction). These skills vary in what they offer, from one time night actions to something more interesting.
Random encountersThere will be various encounters during the day phase. Most of these will consist of the party being attacked by various not-very-friendly creatures. Taking part in these encounters will award players many points (if they survive). To take part players will need to announce their attention in-thread like so:
Attack the massive angry bearIf no-one volunteers to take on the ferocious beast then someone will be randomly selected to take it on.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________This setup favours activity and the nights could end up being very interesting.
Anyone have questions/ interest in this sort of setup?
*I'll definitely need a comod for this, to keep on top of random encounters and the like. They should preferably be someone in a different time zone (america would be best), have some experience and be imaginative.
