Anyone know where I can find a trench coat not made out of leather? Not for any particular event or reason, just because I'm currently wearing someone else's (leather) one and I'd quite like one myself (but am a vegetarian and do my best not to buy leather, etc.). I am, perhaps, looking for something more like a duster? In any case, I definitely want full length (and am roughly 5' 10'' or 11'').

My first thought was
AbbyShot, which certainly does fit what you're looking for, but I'm not sure the famous-replica thing is.

Those are both more expensive than I was expecting (although looking around briefly, appears fairly normal :/) and not quite the sort of coat I was thinking of. Thanks for the thought, though. More like
this but without me looking douchey? I could also do with boots that I could actually wear on a semi-regular basis (again without leather, of course). Edit: And while we're at it, a non-leather stetson? Basically, I'm looking to expand the number of garments I have, mainly for rpg reasons, and these are some things that I don't have that seem cool to me.

So my household recently went from the least likely to ever have pets to having 2. Being strong-willed pays off.

Do a web search for 'faux leather' and variations on coat.

Army surplus. Cheap but generally good quality, so long as you're not too fussy about getting a perfect fit. I go about dressed as a Danish officer during the colder months.

In the novel I have that's going through planning stages, the protagonist gets hit in the head after a lady he rather fancies (who is also kind of a manipulative bitch) chucks a bound copy of her dissertation out her window.
And an infinite number of internets if you can spot the reference.

I meant the bibliography of the defenestrated dissertation, which is a location within that scene where references would be found. I was trying to be clever.

Ate too much yesterday, and involving raw foods (salmon), and today struggling with extremely uncomfortable abdominal pain. Well, at least according to the internet, it's not one of salmon's parasites, it's not an allergic reaction to mushrooms, and it doesn't match the timescale or diagnosis of various other parasites. I'll chalk it up to food poisoning. They said I should wait for 3 days to see if it doesn't let up, so fine.

Seems a somewhat bizarre juxtaposition to me. Maybe someone's planning to build a cyborg replacement for Whitney Houston.

Despite being able to type at a sustained speed of over 70wpm, I don't type correctly. I know how to properly type, that it's faster, and that it's better for hands/wrists, but I never learned the right way. I think I'm going to have to relearn it, with consciously pressing keys. It's a shame really, they should teach typing at school; if everyone typed at a good speed, much more would get done.
Hmm wondering if should get a mechanical keyboard given how much I usually type. Current one is starting to fail.

My school taught typing in grade 7 along with a general computer skills class. And I say "taught" in the sense that we worked in a typing program, and the teacher was just there to make sure we didn't goof off.

I can five-finger type about 70wpm - 90wpm. It used to bug the almighty crap out of my Data Processing teachers (the high school computing course at the time), since it 'wasn't right', and I ended up getting a C in that course. Nowadays, no-one particularly cares how I type, just that I can (and I like to freak them out by turning my head and facing someone to hold a conversation with them, WHILE STILL TYPING CORRECTLY). Five-finger for the win, yo.

This. I type about 75-100 depending on what I'm going on about. I would say that I use more than 5 fingers, but I don't follow the home keys or any standard of typing. I only recently >2-3 years got the hang of typing the way I do without looking.

That name sounds familiar, but I don't remember an orange thing. We were just told to not look at the keyboard.

I did. Except that instead of an orange latex thing, which is apparently too expensive, it was a manilla folder that we put our hands
