Dunno why a router would need resetting more as it grows older.

Maybe it has collected dust into its insides and is now overheating. Or maybe it was always overheating because of bad design or low quality parts, and now it has started to show as the parts have started to get bad.

Anyone have a suggestion for a website to create a custom book? Not like a vanity press. I want to make a cookbook for my parents of all the family favorites, and include pictures of the finished products. So small run of maybe 5 books.

My boyfriend's family have done a couple of things where you get a photo album printed in book form - you design it online, and then they send you the copies. That's in the UK but I'm sure you can find similar things in the US. He's not here right now - but maybe googling photo album books might help?

What Angua said. You can add custom text to them too, so a recipe would definitely be possible.

Even if for some reason you couldn't add text, it shouldn't be too hard to turn your text files into photos to just slot them in!

Hell, depending on exactly what you want, you can do stuff like that with Office Depot or kinko's.
I made a Christmas present of a cookbook a couple years ago. Most recipes had accompanying pictures along with section dividers and the like. It was relatively easy to put together. But somewhere like lulu.com or something might be a better deal.

Most custom "books" I've seen like that (including a couple of recipe ones) were spiral bound. I think that may be the cheaper/easier way to go. I think it just requires printing out the pages (or have someone print them out for you) and then go to Kinko's or similar to have them use their spiffy spiral binding machine.

Shutterfly?I'd imagine you'd next to turn text into images and maybe do some frankensteining on your back end, but past that it might be worth checking out. Dunno first thing about their prices, but the quality is rather good.

...You know, this whole "only bothering to post things when I'm annoyed" thing has me in perpetual fear of logging in to find I've been banned from a subforum. (or insert-applicable-social-network-analogue-here)
I should probably do something about that.

Banned from a subforum HERE? I don't think that's against any rules. So long as you're not, like, posting things that belong in the Rant Thread in the Awesome Thread instead.

Sounds like the problem is on the other side of your router so to speak. By which I mean your router is providing wireless signal but may have been cut off from the intrawebs for any one of a variety of reasons. Doubt I'm telling you anything you don't know. Point is that getting a new router quite possibly won't fix the problem.

The router probably has an administration interface in an address like 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1 (the manual of the device tells the default address and the username/password). If you can get there when there's an outage, you will possibly see some sort of status report on the connection, and you can also be more certain that the problem is not with the box itself.

BTW, my router was messing up because the wires connected to it were getting old and crappy. Try getting new wires.

Dicopomorpha echmepterygis is a parasitic wasp in the family Mymaridae. The males of this species are the smallest of all known insects. They are blind and wingless and may be no more than 0.139 mm (139 μm) in length.

Wasp police 1: Hey, looks like we have a grower here!
(Wasp police 2 takes out a tape measure)
Wasp police 2: Yup, the reading is 139.7 μm.
Wasp police 1: You see that, scumbag? That's .7 μm more than you're allowed to be. Now sure, it's less than one micrometer, but that doesn't mean it doesn't count. Hell, even .3 would be too much, or .2 or...you see where this is going.
Wasp police 2: What he means is that we're going to take you in, and if - if, not when - if you'll ever get out, you'll be sorry to correct your posture. Ever. Again.
(Wasp police 1 points at a book)
Wasp police 1: It reads here, folks of your kind just may not be longer 139 μm. It's no laughing matter, it's the rule!

Weird. I totally assumed text only browsers weren't really in use these days.
Is that like a work related thing? Like, not wanting to risk NSFW images/scripts/whatever? Or is this your Preferred Browser™?

Hm.

It's bad enough that I decided to go for a run at night. It's even worse that I decided to do it when it's only 38°F with 20+ mile per hour winds.

Yes, but I didn't go outside and run in shorts and a T-shirt in Alaska at those temperatures. I may have gotten so used to the cold winters that 38°F felt warm, but it was still cold enough that shorts were a no-no.
