Heh, I didn't see it for lack of moneys. Seriously, $150 tickets? My sister + girlfriend had a good time and shook Sir Ian Mckellan's hand. But we hung out with Erasmus, and learnt the hard way how terrible Sydney parking is...

And yes, we should do something sometime soon. Unfortunately with uni I'm completely full for *ages*, but if someone else is doing something, I'll see what I can do.

And again, sorry Gojoe, missed you in Sydney, I'll have to come back to Christchurch

Is anyone here going to go see Pendulum? It's a long while out yet, but I'd get in and get tickets now-ish if you're going. Horton Pavilion, November 5th, tickets are about $67. I may be going, I'll be able to let you know if I am or not in the next couple days.

I believe its Hordern Pavillion. And its not really my thing, sorry.

The Flugtag is happening again, we've done that before. (I mostly know this is coming up because a non-xkcdilian friend expressed interest in going, the other day. Traveling down with them would increase the odds of my attending above zero.)

Gojoe said to me yesterday that he wanted to go To Canberra (I am not sure why that 'to' capitalised itself but I do quite like the thought of going To Canberra! Away!) so that is something we will likely be doing at some stage this year also.

I'm not sure whether I'll be in Sydney in April, but I am trying to convince my girlfriend to come to the Easter Show so it could happen (unfortunately as a poor penniless student I suspect she'll balk at the cost, even if I am offerring to pay it). Failing that, let me know when you're in town and I might even see if there are any other Canberran xkcdians still lurking around.

The Easter Show might be a fun idea! Even though I agree it is a bit of a money sink. I think we have established on previous occasions that we are quite good at picnics so that might be a good way to cut the cost a little.

9th-15th of April is the session break for my uni, so I'd be free for a day then. After then I probably wouldn't be free till the end of June (post-exams). 5 subjects + tutoring 3 subjects + running a society + research = v. busy.

That corresponds to my break too but I will be working full time while uni is on break so it would have to be a weekend. Preferably the weekend after Easter, if we are just doing hangouts and not Easter Show things.

Jmrz, where in Sydney are you? I forget. You're pretty inner-Sydney though right?

Newtown is fun! We can wander and have foods at trendy places. And there is a wowcow now! Wowcow is like, Cold Rock but for frozen yogurt. Also there is SUSHI TRAIN.

Sadly, girlfriend and I checked the price of travel & accommodation for a trip to Sydney over Easter, and it was a bit past our current budgets. Maybe next time - or let me know when you're coming to Canberra and we'll try to organise something here (offer valid for any forum members).
