I have built most of my rail line in from my house. For the bit at pandora, i am planning on putting it between tx sarus house and blue jellos floating tower. Is this ok with both of you?

For a building to put it into i was thinking of putting it near the NPC village, mileum has claimed some land there, how much do you want?

Also my house is halfway to Roosevelts city and the airport, Rossevelt do you want me to extend the line all the way to your city?

Okey dokey, the spider farm is now mostly done. Someone and I tried to make the lights work better and just broke them in the process so they are stuck on. I'll work on fixing that at some point soon, but I've got a lot of work to do for school this week.

I'm back! Had a lot of work recently, etc etc, but now I'm back.

I looked at the Miner Apocalypse server, but... I don't really like the pvp/war elements, and it seems to be on the rise. I went to talk to some people and suddenly they killed me, despite me saying "hi, I'm new here". So back to our server I go.

I was the original builder of the current cane farm, and I think it's going perfectly well now. I took a look, seems to be in order.

The sheep farm may need some repopulation. Anyone got wheat?

I'm going to expand the sewers by 1 cell to either side, and use that for the subway. It's in a good position to connect with both the northern rail, and the southern rail. I'll probably also look for a way to get a direct, monorail, above-ground route to connect the two stations.

There's wheat in the double chest at the entrance, and the villagers wheat farms are functional. That said, its going okay atm. I just went through and fed every level with fewer than 10 sheep, not counting "external" sheep, because... I'm not going to spend a lot of time rescuing sheep that the game engine is too stupid to outlaw from their crazy "I live on the side of building" shenanigans.

I wish there was some way to arrange the walls/entrances so that the sheep simply could not glitch past them, but... whatever.

ST's server stuff:
Spoiler:
Are we planning on doing anything with the new height limit? I'm thinking we should build a giant dong.

MA server stuff:
Spoiler:
There seems to be a growing war between raiders/crusaders and defenders. People are starting to pick sides and skirmishes are breaking out.

On that note, I hid a double chest of cobble at the cool mountain place and I'm working on mining a second. I vote we build on Friday, if that works for everyone.

Minecraft has enough giant dongs in it without our contribution imo (for instance this is not safe for work, or anything else for that matter). I mean, we should do cool stuff with it when the mood strikes us. We shouldn't feel like we have to use new stuff when all we have is "make giant dongs" in our creative palette.

I'm staying away from the MA server because of my policy of dong avoidance. I don't want to see one on the ST server.

I don't think I need to mention that my home will soon be very glad to give people several seconds of weightlessness to whoever is silly enough to step off my balcony.

I've avoiding the MA server because I really don't think minecraft is ready for this model; you can easily just build blocks to get across any trap, destroy any block, and use x-ray cheat tools to look for mechanisms. This reduces the possibility of actually winning through traps and strategy, and more of whoever is more determined to grief others, which... makes me uncomfortable.

I'll experiment with double-thick walls. Do mobs actively avoid lava flows, btw? Or can we have a water drop along the side that channels the sheep somehow back onto dry land?

Probably still worth expanding the side walls, as the ones that get out through the doors can at least conceivably be lured back into their pens.

Steax, you have just reminded me that I need to get started on the landing area for my free-fall attraction (top of the world to bedrock! Now with a chance of survival!)

Agreed. It's uncreative, uninteresting, and un-awesome.

Also, on behalf of the kids we have who play it's uneducational.

What about flowing water barriers to keep them pushed away from the walls? Unfortunatly this would mean expanding the farm 8 meters in every horizontal direction.

Ok, you installed a lever that lets the spiders out to kill folks. There are better ways to support evolution.

I'm going to be reengineering the whole thing to the design of ChrisPKale's cave spider XP grinder, that thing is way efficient and is based on Etho's designs and therefore awesome. It's also a bit safer. Actually, a lot safer.

I wonder if they're glitching through doors because doors are thin. We should experiment with other doors, like those based on trapdoors or something like that. I'm thinking of a minecart track that bounces a cart back and forth. At most, it would catch 1 sheep inside it, and any further sheep trying to exit may get pushed away by the bouncing.

Let us ask Giant Speck for advice.

Also, water curtains don't need the water to flow out the whole way. We could use transparent objects like saplings to hold back the flow.

Edit: The Pigsy embassy is a hotspot for terrorism. I logged in and was ambushed by a creeper within 3 seconds. However, damage was minimal, thanks to the super-reinforced material in use. It only destroyed one stone brick block, and it was collectable. I wonder how that happened.

Re: Minecraft

Postby SecondTalon » Tue Mar 20, 2012 4:46 pm UTC

Actually, I'll allow a giant dong to be created, provided it meets the following parameters. Spoiler'd for the disgusting.

Spoiler:
It must be attached to something, providing it a base of sorts. An example of an allowable surface would be a flat cliff face of at least 30 blocks of height, attached in the 15-25 block altitude.

It is required to have two states. The first state needs to give the impression that it is both small (relatively speaking) and affected by gravity, with a relative pointing direction of "down". The second state must be at least double in size, if not more, and to act as though it is ignoring gravity, extending in a mostly horizontal direction.

The states must be selectable by a switch, allowing a user to select their preferred mode. This switch cannot be mounted to the dong, and must be some distance away.

Finally, there must be an arrow shooter in the end, attached to a button near the switch control. The contents of the arrow shooter are negotiable.

The entire thing must be created from gold blocks

TL;DR and/or "Oh god, I'm not opening a spoiler marked as disgusting, what the fuck is wrong with you, Talon?"

I'm fine with a giant dong provided it's anatomically correct and as close to biologically functional as possible. And made of gold.

About dongs on ST's server, my compound kinda near spawn has a bit of dong artwork in one of the buildings, it might have been from before the whitelist even. If someone wants to cover it with leaves, just dont destroy stuff in my house, and put the leave over the blocks. That might make things a bit weird when walking around the house though.

Regarding the sheep farm, there are a huge number of sheep that have glitched through on the north wall, but none on the south or east, so if we're going to double up anywhere, it should be the north wall first. There's almost enough glass in the double chest at the entrance to do the job, five more stacks will do it, and should be there in a few hours.

Just got back into this game, again. Like the first hit of a drug for a junkie, this game is WHOA! AWESOME! still.

My map seed decided that I shall only get an Island. 1 Island, with 1 Tree and Flat, and maybe 20 by 20. It does have sand and maybe 6 coal.

It's awesome being able to build whatever I want again and than half way through it...realizing I need more wood / dirt / stone.

My current Idea is to build a walking bridge to another island once I set out exploring with Minecart Tracts under the bridge. Does anyone use a program, free, that will allow me to build this with a block in mind? I can draw only the top down view as my artistic skills are, uh, um, well...crooked stick figures at best.

Also, if I have a texture pack, can I play multiplayer with it? Or will it go to the default? 'Cause, the default is ugly.

You can wait here, or you can PM them. We have three ops, so take your pick:
Good in talking with long-deceased politicians and like torture? PM Rooosevelt. (Is that 4 o's? Not sure.)
Good in squid-language, can handle multiple-personality disorders and playing with magic? PM blalobw.
Good in redstonification and love murdering hundreds of mobs ruthlessly in mountains of cheese? PM Mr. Monkey.

(It doesn't really matter, actually, those are just in-server references. I'm not sure if we're to PM them or not, but that's what the first post says, so... Should be fine. When you're there, ask for directions to pandora, as most of the community is there.)
