I make a motion to amend the rules of wagers to allow for odds. A player may write "I wager <positive integer value X> point(s) against <positive integer value Y> point(s)that <some event> will happen by <certain time>. This wager's name will be <player's nickname> Wager #<current wager number>" in bold.
If the wager maker wins he gets Y points and the wager accepter loses Y points. If the wager maker loses he loses X points and the wager accepter gets X points. For purposes of voting this motion shall be referred to as Carey's motion to allow odds.

The problem with making a SotN is that the rules have been restructured, which was done on the wiki. I don't want to do it for the forum format, too. Thus, I'm waiting for someone to accepts Spikey's motion, which removes the need to post a list of the rules in the SotN.

I was very excited to find this. As soon as I think I understand the current rules, I'd like to join. Or perhaps wait for the next game.

I'm going to be discouraged from making the deciding vote on a motion if it means I'll have to update the wiki. I think it should be updated when someone posts a SotN.

The purpose of motions is not that they are perfect amendments to the rules. If you like the overall idea (wiki), but dislike a detail (who updates it) vote it in and then make a motion to amend accordingly. If others feel the same way your motion will get passed. This is the general pattern for all new ideas so far.

I would make an appeal that people would please vote for the wiki, as the game is currently in a state of flux until we can properly move over. It's quite urgent!

For myself, I think that updating the wiki when a motion is passed makes more sense, and reduces the burden on those who do SoTN posts.

I request clarification on rule Rule §06.02 (Rules on duelling). Despite the confusion earlier, I really think the rules should read that the judge declares the points according to what has actually been won, not just the text "X gains 3 points, Y loses 2 points". In motions we declare the actual number of points according to double down, honor, etc., not just 4 because that's what the rules say. So duels should be the same.

Further edit: I have created Challenge of the Desert Blade on the wiki. If judges could add the results of duels to there, I would find that helpful, although it is not a requirement.

I make a motion to create a new honorable title, Bookmaker. The Bookmaker is allowed to have multiple wagers. When this motion passes, Carey will be the starting Bookmaker. For purposes of voting this motion shall be referred to as Carey's motion to be a Bookmaker.

As arbiter, I declare that rule §06.02.6 shall be edited as follows to remove the ambiguity:

When the duel has been resolved the winner of the duel gains 3 points, and the loser loses 2 points. The judge must declare this by saying "X has won a duel against Y. X gains n points, Y loses m points", where n and m are the points otherwise defined in the rules.

Unfortunately I've just noticed that you can't do anything according to the rules. §01.03 forbids you from taking a nickname until you have voted on all motions, and §04.01 prevents you from voting until you have a nickname. Really sorry about that. It should get fixed soon now that I've pointed it out. (personally I have two active motion, so I can't make a new one right now)

Of course, you can still post and talk. It's just official actions which are forbidden.
