In Arizona,
FireFox is the turtle (desert)
Chrome is the tunnel
And internet explorer has this:

I think that one has some words that change.

With regard to the UK Firefox comic, isn't the worry about the current NHS reforms that it will reduce the effectiveness of the free healthcare in the UK? Also, how many posts are there so far on the comics' content, rather than the delivery system? I only counted a couple.

I got the Earthquake and Blizzard comic ("This is MINNESOTA!"), and I thought it was hilarious. Before I realized what was going on, I was going to send it to friends who live on the west coast. For reference: Windows 7, Firefox, Minnesota. Got the Aurora one with Chrome, and 2Quiet2Furious on IE.

Here in Australia (Wollongong, Windows 7 x64) I get the turtle in chrome, and the snake in ie32, ie64 and firefox, private and regular. Mobile or no.

The turtle strip didn't seem to change any once you could see the turtle on his back.

Though the snake panels vary a little. Some panels disappear and reappear or only appear at certain widths. I started cataloguing them all but got a bit bored, it gets quite repetitive incrementing your browser window pixel by pixel. I got about 30 snaps and still had a lot to go.

Fully zoomed out I believe you should see all the major middle panels: guy standing in the middle of snake coil with swollowed thing and squirrel in one panel, guy and girl and ring in one panel, and the guy riding the snake and portal in the 3rd panel. The ends are almost mirror images. The little panels are just bits of the above big ones, plus a small coil. I think. There could be some easter eggs in there somewhere. You seem to be able to get every combination of the above, except for the big coil with the guy in the middle of it I can only see at full width (may need to open separately to see the full thing):

I certainly got the joke after an hour of searching for new bits of snake: "I found a snake, but then I forgot to stop".

I'm in the UK. I get the 'I found a snake, but then I forgot to stop' one. In Firefox, at least. Zooming out, I get in total -

['I found a snake (etc)'][squirrel with nut; coil of snake with man standing inside like a paddling pool; undigested lump][diamond ring, besotted man; woman staring at snake][beret guy riding it; portals][a silent reprise of the first panel]

IE, Chrome and Opera all get the vortex.

Also, I think Randal may have retroactively changed some things for location from previous comics.
I went to the "leopard" comic, and now when I click on it to go into the xkcd-wiki page, it's up side down, and has pictures of kangaroos on it. It didn't do that when I first saw the comic the day it came out.
I'm posting from Australia, by the way.

Nice one, Randall.
Yes, we have kangaroos; yes, we're up-side down.

Weird, I'm in Virginia and I get the Berlin Chairlift one, rather than the Hurricane > Earthquake one, which I think would be much more appropriate.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I run XP? Also, firefox. I'll try chrome/IE.

Edit: IE gives me the nondescript circular light, Chrome gives me an upside-down turtle comic.

Edit2: Scratch that, I refreshed and now it gives me the Hurricane > Earthquake one, tailored specifically to Virginia. Awesome!

That's interesting. I'm in Nebraska, WinXP firefox, and I got the "Northern lights in Canada" with "It's cold out" as the response line (which is blatantly wrong; it's like 70 degrees outside and it's not even noon yet).
Internet Explorer gives me "has given up."

EDIT: Safari on the Mac downstairs gives me the broken plugin along with "There does not exist - nor could there ever exist - a plugin capable of displaying this content." No screenshot, sorry.

So does my Kindle Fire.

I'm in Montreal, with an ISP based in Toronto. I run Windows 7 Home Edition. I got the following crop of comics:
- Firefox: Earthquake in Toronto, and six months later snow storm with only six kilometers left to go.
- Chrome: Aurora warning from CBC (hehe) that may be visible from "here", but hockey's on.
- Internet Explorer 9: I found a snake with all its easter eggs.

Also, did anyone see the geohash for today? How will we ever reach it with only subluminal travel speeds? :/

I'm a little disappointed. I opened the xkcd page, saw the earthquake comic specifically mentioning Oklahoma, and thought it was a reference to the earthquake we got back in November. Apparently, though, it isn't specific to a particular place and just inserts wherever you are. Oh well. At least we didn't get any snow this winter (last winter was a different story...)

Chattanooga, TN on a Mac here (set to French). Safari has "nor could there ever exist a plugin"; Firefox gives the earthquake (blizzard variant, with "Tennessee" as the reference--a bit awkward, since some parts of Tennessee have had big quakes in the past).

Mac/Firefox: Aurora, CNN, it's cold out, widest view I've seen. Middle panel shrinks when I zoom in.
Mac/Safari: Earthquake, South Carolina, hurricane
Droid/Browser: Tunnel/White circle
Droid/Firefox: Short version of snake, couldn't find the zoom-out function. (Mobile firefox is the suck)

I love how half of the comics deal individually with this theme, too. The Aurora comic features two characters, both happy because of their different perceptions of the world. Everyone interacts with the snake in their own way; none perceives the whole, concerned only with the part they experience. (World snake allusion?) There is no way to understand how the turtle perceives reality; BHG's statement isn't falsifiable.

This is the best XKCD I've seen. :D
