Anyhoo, I haven't gotten anything unique. Windows 7, Latest version of Chrome, no referrer: "Earthquake" comic. Specifically mentioning New Jersey (My God-Forsaken State of residence), with a Hurricane in the final panel. Using the Adobe Browser Lab that someone posted earlier however, the same parameters give me the "Lake Diver Killer", mentioning a "Bay" as the location. Odd?

Using my PS3 browser with no referrer gives me the snake comic, but because I cannot zoom out, I can only see the default "normal" panels with only ordinary snake parts.

Here's one I haven't seen yet: browse from within the Microsoft corporate network and get:

"This plugin requires approval from corporate. Remember Microsoft employees only speak for themselves and never for the company."

That was with IE9, naturlich.

Challenges to find the GeoIP ones:

* Within the White House's IPs, or other government-owned netblocks
* The International Space Station downlink
* I wonder... from a native Ipv6 address?

It is edited. Yay I fooled people without trying to :lol:

The first three panels, of course, are just minor edits, rotations, etc., plus a belt drawn on the girl. For the last panel, the girl is from the last frame of the snowstorm variant, and the guy is from the 2nd panel, but severely reconstructed with the Line tool for a more relevant pose. The Earth is actually the globe from 977, and the chair and table inside are from earlier panels.
Everything else was drawn from scratch by me, mostly using the Pen tool, but I switched to the Brush tool for the cracks, debris, lines of motion, etc.. I also blurred the motion lines a bit, to make it look nicer.

A while back, I made 3 brush presets (well, 2 are honestly just a basic line, at different widths and softnesses) that resembled Randall's strokes fairly well; that's all I've needed since to make something from scratch that looks xkcd-like. Also, I used the normal xkcd font someone provided on the "We make xkcd slightly worse" thread; I don't know the link to it anymore though.

Living in Berlin I got this:

. I think there is confusion sometimes between the way certain German philosophers used certain words, and how they are actually used by normal Germans. Umwelt means environment, it is pretty much a one to one direct equivalent meaning. Yes the word environment could imply what is suggested here, and it may have been used in that way before, but that is not the dictionary meaning of the word. I can't remember the other examples but I have seen this sort of thing before.

It seems half of what the server does is use the user agent info of you HTTP connection to identify your browser. The other half is the javascript and perhaps looking up the domain of your IP. I wrote a program that went through thousands of user agents and I found these images:

Weird. Currently switching between my work computer and my personal laptop. On my laptop I get the snake variations from Firefox, IE and Chrome. Work computer has IE and Firefox. Firefox gets the snake variations, IE gets the white light/aura thingo.
BUT - if I google XKCD and then follow a link, I get nothing. In both. Just a title, no comic, no alt-text. Yahoo and Bing give the white light/aura thing. Doesn't matter if I use IE or Firefox.

This won't show up in a real copy of Netscape Navigator 4: Netscape supports Javascript (so the "retail" strip that shows up if you don't have Javascript support will be hidden), but the support is "broken" by modern standards, so the jquery script used to actually fetch and display the image will fail to run.
