I just attempted to put together a State of the Nomic but... I'm so confused as to what has happened since then that I'm afraid I can't. Does anyone have a better understanding, and could you do one?

Carey, may I suggest you amend your motion to make it explicit as to what happens with in progress duels, preferably making it so that Snark loses by default, so that there is no confusion over the tournament.

I make a motion to add the following rule:

1. Only tradable items may be traded. Currently, points, titles are perks are tradable items.
2. If player A wants to trade something, he/she proposes a deal as follows: "I offer to trade [Player A's offer] for [Player A's request] where both player A's offer and request must contain only tradable items. Player B may accept this offer by writing "I accept [player A]'s trade.", upon which the items defined in the trade will be exchanged between the players.
3. Until a trade is accepted, it is considered an open trade. Each player may only have 1 open trade unless otherwise specified in the rules. Making a new open trade while already having one is penalized with 1 point. Should someone somehow obtain more trades than allowed, they all become void.
4. An open trade becomes void if the player who made it can no longer provide what he/she offered.
5. The player with the title of Trademaster can have as many as 10 open trades at the same time, but much have at least 3 open trades at the end of each of his/her post.

and to give the title of Trademaster to the first person to claim it after this motion passes.
For the purposes of voting, this shall be referred to as Fiery's motion to introduce trades.

I amend my motion to make it easier to just play a little Nomic at a time in the following way: You will still need to have voted on all active motions in order to be able to make a new motion. The completed revised motion is as follows: Amend rule §01.03 so that it reads:

In order to make a new motion a player must first vote on or abstain from voting on every active motion.

Which section of the rules is it written that a vote on a closed motion is not allowed? I know it obviously doesn't make sense, but I don't see it written down. Given this, I make the following motion:

I make a motion to introduce the following perks:
(each player can have no more than one of each perk at any time unless otherwise stated in the rules)
1) Newbie Protection Perk - this perk is given upon entering the game, and removed once you reach 20 points or more. While a player has this perk, he/she is penalized a maximum of 1 point for any situation where they might get penalties.
2) Egoistical Voting Perk - can be bought for 50 points. Allows you to vote on your own motions (except for the final vote)
3) Extra Vote Perk - is gained be winning a duel. Allows you to cast two votes on a motion instead of one. Cannot be used on your own motions.
4) Protection Perk - Reduces all penalties you get by one, to a minimum of 0. This is applied after all other effects. Is obtained by having at least one title.
5) Multiple Perks Perk - allows you to have up to 3 of each perk. Is obtained by having 5 perks.
6) Leadership Perk - is obtained by having 5 honorable titles. Allows you to have 1 more open trade, motion, bet and duel than otherwise stated in the rules.
For the purposes of voting, this shall be referred to as Fiery's motion to introduce more perks.
