I use a two-year old Mac Mini as my primary computer. At various points I've downloaded / worked on / failed to build a variety of interesting open source projects on here. The thing is, being youthful and naïve, I've used a bunch of different package managers and installation tools, and as a result all of my system directories are extremely becluttered. It's been interfering with my development as of late, with things linking wrong, builds failing, libraries mysteriously disappearing, symlinks popping up everywhere, and general confusion reigning. I can usually hack through, but I'd like to clean up and get things working smoothly again. The problem is it's been so long since I worked with some of this stuff that I'm not sure what's vital and what's useless.
Any advice?
