Cognitive-psychology lectures on the Internet

Postby Holograph » Thu Apr 12, 2012 9:35 am UTC

(I don't really know where to put this thread but anyway.)

I'm taking a minor course on cognitive psychology and I was just wondering if anyone happened to know any video lectures or documentaries or the like. Things that would help me expand my understanding of the subject (or just beat things in by repetition). I'm looking for videos on attention, memory, learning, consciousness, decision making, emotions, memory disorders, language or just anything from the cognitive perspective. Or about the cognitive perspective in general.
Well, if you know any, please link them.

Thank you in advance.

There were some things by Robert Winston on the BBC - The Human Mind.

You might be able to get stuff if you sign up to the open university website somehow (not sure), but it was on DVD as well (so I'll let you figure out how to access that - maybe a dvd library in you university?). Anyway, there are some synopses on the different episodes on their website. http://www.open.edu/openlearn/whats-on/ou-on-the-bbc-the-human-mind

He also wrote a great book called 'The human mind and how to make the most of it'. Or you could try Ramachandran for some interesting light reading on the subject.

edit, I realise these aren't lectures, but they are still relevant even if they are for lay people. They've stuck with me and helped in my psychology course even though it was years later.

You might try this. The Gifford Lectures of Professor Michael Gazzaniga.
As a disclaimer anything I say is my opinion and should not to be confused with fact.
