Ok, I started building a spleef arena in the desert area between Skyfrost and the main city. It's gonna be a tower of X height, with a glass dome and floor which allows us to watch the actual players. Lots of water in the bottom.

Any suggestions?

If you can get over to XKCDia at some point (that sandstone city east of old spawn) you can find Roosevelt's old Spleef arena in the southeast corner. Maybe you can get some inspiration from that?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Yay.

We need another server-wide something.

Also, roos: I may have a really annoying new jumping puzzle. But by annoying, I mean it. It can probably be modified to be less or more annoying, though. I'll try to get a prototype going.

#city vault: water delivery system is working. I'll get around to making a memory tape next.

Hopefully an op can come along and whitelist you guys! Again, please leave a note here when you're coming online so someone can show you around. It's kinda hard when our main center of activity is 20km away, though staying at old spawn is cool too (it's just worth noting where everyone is).

Finished the water for RoberII's spleef arena. Got a look at jr's tree farm and Skyfrost. Awesome sauce to both. Still have no idea where kiid's planned dam is. I'd like to see it though.

@Steax/Rirez, any requirements for building in one of those plots to the right in Skyfrost? Or is it open game besides the rules on the signs? I think I'd like to make something.

So much fun.

His dam is on the east side of the lake, immediately to the east of my small floating house near pandora city. It's quite close - you can also get there from the large hills near your place.

No, there's no requirement at Skyfrost; build whatever and wherever, you don't even have to use a plot, as those were just guidelines that halgdp set up. You're free to make whatever you want there!

Yes. Yes we do. I believe at one point I nominated the island to the northwest (the one with the awesome harbor cliffs) as a Pandoran National Park. I formally withdraw this nomination in favor of Magnamious's idea

That island looks god... I don't think I'll mess with the cliffs. This would be my ideal plan, although I may decide to cut back and only do half. A large oval-ish pit with two pillars, and bridges linking them and the outside edge.

Might I suggest that the connecting section look like it had collapsed? That seems like what would have happened in nature, had those structures existed in real life.

I don't want it to be very symmetrical, so it feels more organic... I guess I'll figure it out once I start digging/blasting.

Unrelated: Did the behaviors of skeletons change? I'm at the xp farm near the settlement, and I can walk right up to the iron bars without them shooting me.

It doesn't have to be symmetric: if you follow the shorelines as they are, the north side will cut in quite a bit more (I was going to draw that too, but it didn't really show up as well).

As for the skelies... they seem to like killing each other again in caves, which is odd, as I thought they were no longer aggroing each other.

Hey I''m lawsome! I'm usually over in forum games but I came over here for a request.

Ok I made a custom map a week ago and have been desperately searching for a server to beta test it (It's for 4- 9 players). If you could please read through what I've got written here and just consider helping me.

It's basically as close as you can get to mafia without it becoming stupid, in brief, players are assigned roles these roles determine what their win and lose conditions are. For most people this is:

Win if the end portal is made. (By collecting 12 eyes of ender)
Win if Traitor killed.
Lose if killed.

As you may have guessed, one of them is the traitor, his win/lose conditions are:

Loses if portal made.
Loses if killed.
Wins if only person left standing.

People are then put in a kind of arena, and must find and collect all the eyes of ender while trying to weed out the traitor who is, in turn, assassinating them and destroying eyes of ender. (There are 19 eyes of ender in the map but only 12 are needed for the portal.)

There are a few layers on this, 3 of the end crystals are in a chest in the nether with a full set of diamond armor and an enchanted sword, so if the traitor manages to destroy more then 4 of the crystals without being caught the rest of the team may be forced into going there. The actual layout of the arena is a bit more complex than it seems. A main room with 4 "capillary rooms" coming off of it. Between then these rooms have a means to craft pretty much every block in the game. You can mine and place blocks however much you like provided you don't go back through the hole you came in.

Of course the game is different from mafia in many ways, stealth plays a big role here, not just deception, the best traitors are those with the ability to sneak around, assassinate and steal. If I were to make a total mafia clone in minecraft it would be useless right?

It is easy to set up, choose what roles you want by filling up the dispenser in the machine. Also, Ops can play the game to! There is no need for an "overlord" to guide the game, just follow the rules and see what happens, it's played without mobs on survival.

I hope you have had the time to consider my request, this probably sounds nooby and I doubt anyone will agree to it. You can see the map for yourself Here.

If you would like to host the map please Pm me. I would like to watch over the first game and make notes, this is the third iteration of the map but the first time I think it is good enough to be beta tested. (The other two were rubbish and I deleted them)

Thanks in advance

Quick suggestion Lawsome: Have the role list copied after the assigning machine. While it is good to know the possible roles before entering the machine, players may not remember all the different roles and color codes.

Oh, and it seems that you can accidentally exit the arena via the nether...

Could we get a moratorium on any more doors in the village? atm, the server seems to be kicking me whenever I go near there. There are literally dozens of them at this point. When the upgrade comes and they're useful, whatever, but atm, its freakin' ridiculous.

I think we need TNT out.

It appears we overestimated their door count, and the limiting factor was their reproduction rate. I'll check it out now, but there are still testificate kids wandering around.

Also, the server is still on vanilla, right? So we can expect 1.3 soon after it comes?

Edit: Cut down the entity count by about 100, there was a huge bottleneck of them on one particular roof. I'll go... take care of that roof now. I think the issue isn't the entity count, but them shoving each other around and overwhelming clients with movement packets.

Edit2: The shoving is because they're all hiding on the fenced roofs, but they can't get back down the ladders.

So according to the Tectonicus map, there are only 36 magenta wool in the map at this moment (only jukeboxes are more rare). This makes me sad.
Oh, and there are apparently 2 end portals (judging from the 24 ender portal frames. I take it these were both modded in?
