Boston Militia opening game @ 18:00. This I am definitely going to. Cause I went last year and had a ton of fun, and it was not even the opener. You get 50% off if you have a Somerville ID, which I don't have despite living here for 2 years. As it goes. I can totally handle supporting them $12 worth.

What an exciting weekend right? And that's just Saturday.

Somerville is generally an excellent place to be. I would be pro-doing a thing, though my free time is laughably limited lately.

Are you around for a decent period of time, such that when I am not in rehearsals/meetings/Canada a thing might be doable?

Oh, this is where I've heard of it.

Unfortunately, I can't make that one, due to my current extrabostonian location, but it turns out there's a movie of this, out last year, set in a war zone and directed by/starring Voldemort. Going to see it at a film festival tomorrow. I'll report back on the quality.

Update: Movie was fucking awesome. Obtain and watch it. And go see the play with Sprocket. The script itself seems pretty cool.

I was wondering, what have people thought of the new Os Gemos mural/graffiti, "The Giant of Boston" near South Station? It's been in the news recently for controversy.

I, for one, like the patterns. They're good at that. I also like the fact that they work by night.

Unfortunately I think it's not permanent. Wish it was.

The only other Os Gemos work I've seen was another piece they did here in Boston of two kids graffiting the words "Os Gemos" on the side of... a bank, I think. I personally like that one better, but it's just me.

I was waiting for a bus in Davis today, and I wondered how many people from here I would recognize on the street. Sandry is about the only 100% sure person I could think of. So, someone suggested I ask in here, since it'll probably get more traffic.

A friend on a different fora has been informed that her rent is going up this month, and she just can't afford it. She's willing to have roommates or just rent a spare room someone has.

She is looking for a more stable, long term housing situation, but she wants to keep the offer open in case she needs to use it later.

To add to the additional price and safe space requirements, she also wants everyone to know that's she's an awesome tenant (her landlady said so!), and also submissive, and attentive to house work. I will also vouch that she's very kind and an awesome person.

If you know of anywhere in the Boston area (her preference) where she could pay rent for $375 (or less) per month w/o utilities, and that is trans* friendly, please let me know, and I'll pass it along to her.

I'm paying $400. I live with three other people, two of which own the house. And we're all good friends, it works out well. Not having to deal with shitty roommates is great.

I guess if you're willing to give up having your own bathroom, kitchen, living room, etc, you can find cheap rent.

I kind of wish I had a roommate I wasn't in a relationship with, but you know.

It also depends on how expansive your definition of "Boston Area" is. You can find a reasonably nice living arrangement (probably still with roommates, though) for that amount if you're willing to live waaaay out there.

Yes, I'm also curious about this. Halloween is consistently the most depressing night of the year for me, and I'd be enthused about any goings-on with amenable strangers.
