That was our France, I think. Mind you, it was when I was about 10-11, so I can't completely confirm it.

Okay, newpixbot's perceptiveness is starting to creep me out. Nongregarious in the sense of not moving in a herd or group perfectly describes how Cueball and Megan are acting in this frame. mscha, are you giving newpixbot hints between the ONG and when npb posts?

Well, newpixbot is supposed to simply pick a random word containing ‘ong’ from /usr/share/dict/american-english-huge. It seems like newpixbot has evolved since ... which is surprising for about 300 lines of Perl code (including blank lines and comments).

(Loved your illustrated “I Chirp to the Trees”, by the way. Oh, and your Queen rewrite.)

Well, there is your problem.
A decent programmer would need a couple lines of Perl code to write something as simple as newpixbot (or so I heard).
With 300 lines, are you sure it's not Skynet or Multivac or Michael?

If LaPetite were launching a stealth attack, she wouldn't yell "Hi!", idiot.

She would yell "Hello", because it takes longer to say, which means it takes longer to hear, which means Cueball will be unconscious before he has a chance to process it.

Would this count as a film, even though it has a slow frame rate?

Hm. If sped up to 24 frames per second, standard for 35mm film, then the OTC would last roughly 78 seconds. So let us be reasonable and suggest a frame rate of 2 per second. This should allow for enough time to read dialogue. Currently, as of this post, that should be 943 seconds of film, which is 15, nearly 16 minutes. If the OTC were to be a film (as in, a movie) with a frame rate of 2 frames per second (which is quite watchable at that rate) then we would need a total of 1,900,800 frames. We shall be waiting for it for a very, very long time.

Otherwise, at it's current rate, it is simply not a fair comparison, I think. And whilst I am a true devote and follower of the OTC, it would make for a very boring film, indeed.

Still Haven't Found What They're Looking For...
(based on "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2)

They have climbed the highest mountains;
They have run through the fields.
Only just Meg and Cue
Only just Meg and Cue.

They have seen things that crawled
and Baobabs, so neat and tall,
so neat and tall.
Only just Meg and Cue.

But they still haven't found
What they're looking for.
But they still haven't found
What they're looking for.

They have taken cautious sips,
from the sea, and on river trips.
It burned like fire,
and keeps rising higher.

They have spoke in the molpy way;
they have held a trebuchet,
and passed grape vines
that were left behind.

But they still haven't found
What they're looking for.
But they still haven't found
What they're looking for.

(I believe when the ending comes
then all of IT will blend into one,
blend into one.
And yet I'm still Waiting!)

The walk goes on,
each frame after frame,
and they keep searching,
just the same.
Always the same!

(You know I believe in IT!)

But they still haven't found
What they're looking for.
But they still haven't found
What they're looking for.

But they still haven't found
What they're looking for.
But they still haven't found
What they're looking for.

You amaze me each time, Maestro!

As for Cuegan, that ambush looked painful. I do hope Megan did not injure Cueball. After all, with such a thin stick frame, he seems quite breakable.

Not a bad idea. Could we also throw toilet paper at key moments, such as they do at screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show?

You know you're Waiting for It when:
-You go to the beach and ogle sand castles instead of bodies.
-You either refuse to speak twice in a row, or don't say anything for multiple newpix but then talk for at least 10 minutes, on five different subjects.
-You've almost called someone a heretic for using Outside Time and distance units, and it wasn't someone on the OTT.
-You've had to refrain from pelting people with small sugar-coated candies of varying flavors when they imply that you're wasting your Time.
-You find yourself pondering the possible Madagascar/Africa/Cassinite projection/other justification for all animal molpy life you see.
-You're at the store getting curtains and guesstimate the size in cues.
-You covertly examine every person you see wearing a hat, wondering if it's a BuffyGirlTM Original.R

The OTT keeps me alert and entertained as we all wait for it. But let us be reasonable: should one be asked to sit and watch the OTC, as one would a movie in a theater, and do only that, just sit and watch, one could be sure that it would not be of very great entertaining value. To be blunt, it would be boring. Which is why we all come here, so that we may all wait for it together, in wonderful weird creative company.

And for that, I am grateful.

-You refer to sleep as coma all of the time.
-You use 'Time' to motivate yourself when you're climbing home.
-You get really bored halfway through every Newpix.
-You have claimed any part of the OTC.
-At any time you can't access the internet but aren't doing anything interesting, you think about how nice it would be to be able to ketchup with Time.

Is that the sort of thing?

In retrospect, I think I could have made them spell Molpy, but it was only after I posted that I realized they could be read that way.
Heresy has two E's and that would make the footnotes more convoluted than even I can handle.
The foam maiden? Not even hot cocoa? I was just trying to respect the unspoken commandment for mild (juvenile) profanity on a centenary post.

Yes! I think, to a certain degree, we can all nod our heads and think to ourselves, "yeah, I do that now, too."

Also, to your last point: I wear hats everyday and have done so for several years now. I have an assortment, though they all seem to have lost some of their appeal because they are, in fact, not BuffyGirlTM Original.R.

Whew, keught up after too much Outside interference...
Loved all the musical and literary contributions!

Here's the final Chilpy animation. (Spoilered since I bet y'all are fed up with Chilpies by now.)
Spoiler:

40 frames... That must have been the longest post-fade ‘scene’, right?

Edit: about things quieting down, I won't start worrying until there are two newpixbot posts in a row, with no posts in between. (That hasn't happend yet, has it?)

Ketched up.

First of all: Good call by XonqNopp and Reka correctly catching and predicting Megan in the tree. They caught it super early, and yet weren't very lauded for having one of the only predictions that's actually come true on this thread... :P

Strat: another great filk. :)

Also, something I was pondering... could Corinne become enough dissatisfied with Minim to rend herself free of Minim's consciousness and become an independent entity? And if Minim is in fact BlitzGirl is LaPetite is charlie_grumbles is GLR... Does that mean that Corinne would actually be rending herself free from GLR, and thus could wreak more havoc independently in BOTH the OTT and the OTC? Kay. I'm done with that line of thought. It's blowing my mind a bit.

Yes.

OMR, the OTT is ending!

Actually, this was at the beginning, when newpixbot was still running amok. Let me rephrase that: if there are two newpixbot posts (on a ⅙np delay) in a row, with no posts in between, we need to start worrying.

The record for the longest film shown is 10 days long.

I think we can simply follow in John Cage's footsteps here.

I'm not sure what number we're at on canonical footnotes, so I'll just choose one I'm sure isn't taken yet. Would this be river11.6 (not to be confused with river2)?
