I hate Florida. D:
The bugs, the heat, the humidity, the hurricanes, the tourists, the old people, the rednecks that still fly confederate flags, Disney, the illegal immigrants that don't speak a word of English, coming into my store reeking of sweat and covered in paint, and EXPECT me to know Spanish, and then they pay with a $100 bill. ALWAYS a $100 bill (Well, sometimes, rarely, a $50 bill). I've actually had times when, at the front register, I had so many people paying with large bills I was giving almost $20 worth of $1 bills. Simply because I HAD NOTHING ELSE.
I don't mean to sound like an angry racist bigot, if that's what I seem to you. I'm most annoyed by the, you know, ILLEGAL aspect of it. Also the language barrier. I used to CARE about customers, and tried my best to help them without any sort of displayed irritation. No more. If I hear "Habla espaneol?" I flatly say "No." I've even grinned a few times. If they don't make an effort to get around that language barrier, I don't help them. I've damn well tried to get around it and it's just not worth the trouble. Plus, it encourages them not to learn English.
I'm such a bitch.
