The Pope wants:
  1. An appropriate papal smiley (i.e. a dragon, uh, pope, if at all possible)
  2. Someone able to decipher his signature
  3. Mathematical, physical or philosophical discussions about Megan's jump or injury (including equations)

Did she simply misjudge how much a simple leap might further injure her leg?

I agree that the OTC is tapping into aspects of soap operaticality, but in a very unique way given the format, and Blitzgirl's set of questions is a beautiful example. We know some of the history of these two characters, and have an idea of their personalities; given a series of images with a few pixels altered each time, we can use that information to speculate, hypothesise, imagine and wonder to our heart's content. Because this is a particularly geeky soap opera, we the audience are particularly active in our appreciation and analysis of it. The enjoyment is not in passively sitting back and being told the story; it's in the process of telling the story to ourselves.

FWIW, I'd say it's a combination of the first three - the same reaction she had to "I don't think we can build it much higher than this".

This fragment reminds me of an article about recovering data from black holes through the Hawking radiation they emit.
Also reminds me I just read an article on cryptosystems.

Lest the Papal Decree be obeyed: Image

I fear that mathematics is not my strong suite. Least of all when I am tired. So coma I must, and beg forgiveness for not being able to plot the parabolic arc of Megan's jump. I know there is an X and Y in there somewhere, though. Coma well all! For the rest, keep the faith and wait for it.

Aw, I misread the third request as discussions about Megan's injury, and was really interested in what kinds of equations people would create about it. :( The leap looked pretty good to me, at least as far as consistent drawing is concerned.

I have no way to fulfill any of your decrees better than that, but I have had a song in my head all day, switching itself back and forth between OTT and original. I haven't pinned it to the paper yet, but here's the first bit:

At the risk of repeating myself, for option 1:
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

I'll get back to you on option 2.

Option 3:
Megan's jump tells us a lot about human nature. The impulse to do things we know are dangerous simply for the sake of proving we can do them. The pride we feel that makes us think "What could possibly go wrong?" Even when we succeed, it is not always to our advantage - nothing is ever perfect. It can hurt, sometimes more than a little. But in the end, the fact is, we made it to the other side - and Time goes on.

Did Megan jump because of their curious reluctance to get immersed in water (like when Cueball held Megan back from the sea)?

And does not seem to want her injury to slow her down.

I would say I don't understand why the Americans put corn syrup in everything, but I can't because I know it's because they simply have so much of the stuff. While in Australia, golden syrup is a more usual thing since we get it from refining sugar cane.

Thus it's of lasting interest, even after retroactively wiped. I think. Does anyone else buy that theory?

ETA: Ninja'd, however I'm the first with code. ......... but it's PHP. I'm not sure that means anything. :)

Hmm, is ".name" not a bit long for a top level domain? If I recall correctly a top level domain can only be 3 characters long.

Ah. I stand corrected.

Then why did Cueball mention her leg?

Could you tell one stick from the other?

Glad to see Cue made it across safely and they're both on their way. It would have been rather embarrassing if he slipped after Megan cleared it easily with an injured leg.

Wait ... are you suggesting that GLR (and/or his servers) are waiting for it here in the OTT? What if GLR is one of us!?

ETA: Hey, has anyone noticed the JavaScript?

My theory is that the Newpixbot threatened the server into delaying the frame so it could catch it without impunity. Next step will be to force GLR's server to only serve the frame to the Newpixbot untill 0.2 newpix after the real ong.

Newpixbot has learned to use force to get his way? That's a bit worrying. I'm probably near the top of his hit list since I stole his ONG. If you don't hear from me again, I guess we'll all know what happened.
