Then when I add the option to select a frame / replay time, the full CSV could be downloaded only when the last frame in the current version is reached. That would probably be optimal.

Okay, quick hack: http://xkcd.mscha.org/time_latest.csv
This'll be kept up-to-date whenever a newpix arrives, and always contains just two rows, the header row and the bottom row from time.csv.

Brilliant, thanks! I will push a hotfix when I get home from work to use this instead to save people's data (and yours). Meanwhile, during any lulls in work today I can hopefully fix the orientation problem and make a couple of other tweaks.

Edit: Woooooaaah, retrospective papal decree, spoilered redundant kitty pictures in all posts!

I have de'coma'ed to find that Cueball has not. Here is a reply from a few NPs back.

Redundant

With just the single spinner I can only see one way (can't remember which), but with the three spinners I can focus on the left/middle and she spins one way, then focus on the right/middle and she switches. My brain loves/hates it.

Past Pope: Cueball dreams of Meagan, of course.
Present Pope: ?? Your wish is my command.
Edit for Pope-Edit

I ignore your command. Mwah ha ha ha.

Dunno about Aubronwood, but Geekwagonstill exists. Geekwagon doesn't have the meteor frames though.

Aubronwood is working for me, and all the frames are on mscha's timeframes page.

I'd suggest to treat NP 1000 as any NP. Who want's to post, posts. If someone feels like he/she has to address words of gratefulness, hope, desparation, love, sarcasm, math, molpies, stars, NSA, unspecific happiness, specific happiness, significant others ... May he/she please do so! If not, not. If someone wants to scrawl "I WAS HERE!!!!1!!11" on the wall number #1000, may he feel free to do so, although moderating personnel are, still, suspected to have limited patiencecitation not needed.

Having said this, I've said what I have to say.

This did not make sense, either.

I agree. 1000 is just another arbitrary number. Frame 1000 went by without a kerfuffle as did 2000 as did newpage 500 and 512. Also the forward drift caused by newposters will mean some posters on page 999 will end up on 1000 and some on 1000 will end up on 1001. NP 1000 starts with post 40,000. Special, but it's not 50,000 or 100,000 which happen on NP 1250 and 2500 respectively. In the end it doesn't really matter

(Yes, this is my second post here.)

Well, if you guys have really decided not to make NP1000 anything special, then I guess you won't have any interest in this fragment of a song a I found. (It would have been more appropriate to post in the 980s anyway.)

Thankfully, the remainder seems to have been lost.

And don't worry, I'm sure we have nothing to fear from the NP1K bug.

I have a related question: What happened to Aubron? The site still seems to be active (for me), but our fellow TimeWaiter has been gone since NP19 (sometime in March) with no hint of a "I'll be vacationing in the Outer Hebrides" or any other sort of departure.

MOLPY UP, YA'LL! Now for some ketchup..

@BlitzGirl: I love watching you draw in super-speed! You're so talented and it's adorable how your older videos were already TIME-related before the OTC ever existed. You were destined to be here. :D

@yappobiscuits: Awesome Logic video! You're extremely talented as well and  I love your accent.

@Marsh'n & Ebonite: Great job!! The remix yappo did of you was pretty neat and it finally makes that old 'Time Waiters Unite!' saying appropriate.

@Alusio: Great filk. :mrgreen:

A long time ago I was going to send harmony vocals to yappo for use in one of the OTT songs he did, but I never did.. and I'm wishing I had. ;) Now, to get Cueball to wake the ch*rp up! Come onnn.

Fellow Time waiters. The last week or so have made something clear to me. The OTT has become more work than fun, trying to stay caught up, and I just can't seem to keep a steady presence or read everything. I am no nearly 100 pages behind, and it's becoming clear. I can't read everything, and I can't spend enough time here to do the Job effectively. Therefore, Effective immediately, I am abdicating my role as Lord High Inquisitor.

Don't get me wrong--I'll still check in several times a week, and keep up with the OTC until it's end, but the joke has worn thin for me, and I find I have no real desire to read every post any longer. Even before this I found myself skimming pages on pages. I respect and like you all too much to leave for good, but I also respect and like me far too much to spend hours and hours keeping up when it isn't quite as fun anymore.

Thank you.

So how long has Cueball been sleeping? Well, he's been lying down for 68 newpix (but talking to Megan about chirps early on), so if it's still 6½ minutes per frame, that's just over 7½ hours.

ETA: Sad to hear that, Dracomax... The good news is, we haven't had much need for an inquisitor lately.

Now that's a werekitty! (Making mine redundant.)

ETA: Dracomax, as with Charlie, I hope you will come and go as you need to, so that it works for you, and will visit when you can.
ETA less important: Did Cuegan really just get six syllables in three words???

Thank you.

Just do what I do.

[heresy]Come back to the present. Ketchup when you have time and aren't too far behind, or skim, or just outright skip back to the current newpage when you feel like it. The OTC / OTT should never feel like a chore.[/heresy]

OTC Livewallpaper update: I have a much improved version running on my device now. I can't update it the version on Google Play from here, but will do so when I get home in ~4 newpix.

Edit: This was supposed to be an edit to my previous post, but I quoted it instead. I fail so hard at forums.

ETA: Sad to hear that, Dracomax... The good news is, we haven't had much need for an inquisitor lately.

The OTT is now sans inquisitor.

I really like this image (#2530 on mscha's site)

Maybe it's just me putting too much meaning into a little bit of mayonaise, but to me it seems like she's staring adoringly at her sleeping lover.

'course, her "Finaly" in the next frame shows a little impatience, but for a moment there it was really sweet.

So, this Fourth of July weekend, I will be in mostly the middle of nowhere with only a tablet for connectivity. I will probably miss the coronation of the millipope (kilopope? What's the standards here?), and will not spend much time in the Present as I am still determined to read it All. So, in the meantime, err...insert something inspirational here. I'm not really good at that kind of thing.

Well, that bit of freedom didn't last long. Please ignore my post a couple posts up.
