I say we have a better milliner here, especially since they all seem to be wearing the same hat - we've got much more variety in headgear here.

Also - I can't wait to see if they introduce themselves by name - "Hi, I'm Cueball" I'm guessing that'll happen between frames instead, to keep it ambiguous enough.

Glancing through the last two pages, I can't believe nobody's pointed out that they're wearing toques.

It could just be hair with a little white headband/crown type thing... don't worry, there's one behind those three with a feather poking out the back of his headband :)

edit: darn it, ninja'd, and here I've been thinking it since i first saw them and only now posted it.

It's possible that they're headpieces, but look how they are solid black compared to Megan's hair. I would expect to see more hair sticking out, I think.

Hmm, so you're saying in this far-flung future, the Canadians have taken over the continental US? (Did we agree that seems to be where and when the OTC takes place?)

I suppose I can think of worse folks to invade the US; we'd certainly be hard-pressed to find more polite conquerors. Hopefully the Beanie Bunch will prove to be as friendly.

The good news - none of the Beanie Bunch appears to be carrying weapons. Or bags.

But their beanies might have destructive powers for all we know.

Prediction: The leader of the Beanie Bunch (closest to Cuegan) will remove his hat and bow to Megan our of respect. Thus ending the what-type-of-head-thing-are-they-wearing debate.

It's called a rolled brim bucket hat. A logical choice for higher (cooler) altitudes.

Well, one maybe two more Newpix, until the language issue is stettled.
Maybe there will be an older member of the Beanie Bunch who went on a Journey when younger, met and learned Cuedan' language long ago, and still remember enough of it to talk to them.
Or, maybe the two languages are close enough for communication, like Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish.
