I half expect La Petite to stick her head in the frame in a while, then run onto the raft and make more sandcastles.

I had written a nice post (at least I thought so), but apparently it was eaten.

Had to think of this song when reading all the responses to the alleged End of Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph7rRSNpvMg - if this is my last goodbye, ...

However, it wasn't entirely a surprise after the rushing of the story after the meeting with the Oracle - and a frame with the End was already predicted by me at some point. (but did you believe me, nooooo....) I have no idea whether Time will continue (as OTC). Hopefully there will be tying up of loose ends, as I would like closure, should this really be the end. A continuation of the 40 is probably not as interesting - they can either make it, or die horribly, but the question is whether it would have the same suspense or degenerate in a run-off-the-mill dime-a-dozen-novel. So quitting while ahead is not entirely unsurprising. Or maybe his wife wanted a baby, but now has a husband OTTerwise occupied and made him choose. Or maybe he read that BlitzGirl wanted to marry someone else (well, except for the creepy factor) and went away in a huff.

I wouldn't mind a repeat experience, on a different subject. Conquering of the world by the Dutch.

I also would like some kind of multi-media experience dedicated to Time, where comics and OTT-contributions would be intertwined. I would so buy a leatherbound volume where ottifications, poetry etc would be nicely live together a la Andrew McMeel's compilation of Gary Larson cartoons. As I said before, the OTC by itself is just a long what-if in comic format. (And I don't want to belittle it, I recognize the effort involved and I appreciate the platform given for some of my otherwise pent-up creativity). The depth of analysis here provides the addition D for this otherwise 2D comic.

I had planned to do a Wild Mountain Thyme ottification. I might still do it.

Anyway, ONG time. Fade or cut?

Ronald

It feels appropriate that here at the (possible) end of Time, I lost my internet connection for a while due to a massive monsoon thunderstorm. It really felt like the end of Time for a few minutes there. Plus, rain = tears...

Hoping he does pull a 'JK', it really felt so sudden, I was just skipping by the newest ones and then BAM! I had to return a few pics and repeat a few times until I got that I read that correctly.

I mean, so much potential! The Mediterranean flooding, castles, exploring new lands, and he would stop now? I find it doubtful.

Again, hoping for a JK, because when I saw another frame after the THE END, I guessed it wold do a fade out like the castle after hey left...

Ok… I've had these ready to go for a while now, but have been putting off posting them since the OTC and OTT have been so full of excitement in recent wips, but now it's OVER, I feel the time is right.

I present not one, but THREE present presents for y'all in the form of recordings of three previously ottified songs! (With very crudely made videos).

These are somewhat out of date given the recent happenings, but see them as bits of nostalgia from the simpler days of the OTC :)

Firstly, Every Newframe's Awefulsome
(Based on "The Major General's Song" from Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance, originally ottified by ZoomanSP here, with some lines modified by me because I found the originals too hard to fit the rhythm or just too hard to say. Needless to say, this one was the biggest challenge to sing!)

Next, The Knights Temporal Song
(Based on "Knights of the Round Table" from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, originally ottified by me here - and with some lines improved upon from the original)

And finally, Megan and Cue
(Based on "Winnie the Pooh", originally ottified by me here)

And downloads for all!

I Image you all.

The story doesn't stop. Not as long as any of us live, and remember it. That's the best part of minimalism, the fact that so much of the story is left up to the audience to create for themselves. After all, you didn't imagine the world we saw in "Time" as a flat, black-and-white landscape, did you? I, for one, pictured real trees and animals in full color, because I know the comic is only a (comparatively) simple representation of that world.

No fading yet, either to black or white; still #00 and #ff. But I thought the image I created while testing had a weird beauty, especially the trees. These are some of the prettiest trees I've seen Randall create, and he does good trees.

i'm really sad, if this is really the end. I will take a look on the side every now and then, just hoping that it somehow continues.

But think about it: If you look back to this Time-Storyline in ... let's say a year or when you show it to others... I think it will be quite hard to explain how it felt to have watched it from the very beginning.
I have seen Cueball and Megan before they even started building the castle and I didn't understand it back then. Later that day I looked back to the side, hoping to understand it but the picture had changed. Since then everytime I looked to the page and to aubronwood I was curious how the story continued and what had happend since the last time I looked. It kinda was like visiting two friends.

Well. Thank you, Randall and everyone. It was an awesome Time.

⁷... That was awefulsome indeed, yappo!
I'm saving the others for later. (I think you should've posted one now, one tomorrow, one Sunday, or something like that, so that people have something to come back for.)

Ninja'd.

(I'll miss saying that.)

I don't expect to stop; the context will just shift Outside. Already has, actually. And I've got my wife saying, "What the chirp!" :)

Is it too late for the Hugo nominations?

For this year, yes. For 2014, not at all. "Best Graphic Story" category. Go for it.
EDITED to fix spoiler image link (thanks, SBN!)
even though it seems a bit pointless now. :(

Well ladies and gentlemopes, that was a fun ride. I just wish I'd gotten involved with the OTT earlier. I stopped by maybe 2 months ago, but I got scared off by all the words that didn't mean anything to me.
My prediction for future ONGs is that there's 2 or 3 different ones that will just loop forever, sort of like the runoff groove on a record, so that the waves just continue to lap at the shore.
I was very disappointed by the ending, but I do trust that GLR had this in his mind from the beginning. This is how it was intended to be. And that's fine.

I'm actually not dissapointed in the ending. it was a bit sudden, but it has been coming for a while. it makes sense, and quite frankly, it invokes one of my favorite ending tropes. Megan and Cueball are still out there, exploring, discovering things. it's kind of a beautiful way to end it, really.
