Treeish, we've come full circle!

Also I captioned all my OTThercomics on the Wiki :D

[preninjaedit] whoops I've got like half a page of ninja posts though I think I already read them all when ketchupping.
I'm glad folks are liking I Shout ONG When I Post it and my OTThercomics :D
Yappo: yeah you're right it's treeish that Time has an otherwiki page, even a heretical steambottlish one.
[moreninjaedit] lol the newposts while writing the above.
irino: great OTThercomic!
HES and ucim: perhaps you should disable cookies on your smartphones.

[actual edit] Whoops! I decree more OTColoured :D

My first attempt at OTTercomic OTTification... Since I still haven't handled the advanced redundant-attachment-stuff, I'll just link it to imgur. :)

I think it has, but no matter. This is fantastic! And the hair is especially steakish!

Creation of new knowledge. Not reviewing/studying the already known.

Are you sure? Do Mathematicians create or discover mathematics? That is, do they create new systems of rules and “stuff,” or do they discover the relationships that are already existing somehow embedded in nature?

I think he just meant that it's not about learning the right method of solving such-and-such problem, it's about coming up with those methods; in other words, learning and applying the Pythagorean theorem isn't really "doing mathematics", discovering and proving the Pythagorean theorem is.

In the same way that learning Newton's Laws of Motion isn't "doing physics", but theorizing and testing those same laws is doing physics.

And Pythagoras and Newton already did those respective bits of math and physics, and if you want to do more math and physics of your own you have to (attempt to) make a new discovery of your own, not just read about what discoveries others already came up with.

Yes, exactly, though this has been discussed extensively in the OTT.

{P1243}
I've just invented a quality measure for new maths discoveries - the quality is inversely proportional to the age of students the new discovery is taught to. For example, counting is a damn fine discovery, taught to 3 year olds; calculus not too shabby, 15 year olds; some of the theorems used to prove the four colour hypothesis - nice try pal, one point - 30 year olds.

Clompety thompety
thundered the clerecy
headed by BlitzGirl and
travelling west.

Charactaristically
wearing her boa on
top of her armor she
did look her best.

Riding their coconuts
swiftly they covered gar-
gantuan distances
over the land.
Spoiler:
Meanwhile they pondered the
lexicographical
roots of the language so
they'd understand

those who were riding with
BlitzGirl. Through gesture and
pantomime both of them
broadly conveyed

the life-or-death struggle their
family was facing sur-
rounded by water they
couldn't evade.

Coconuts thundering,
all of the clerecy,
heralds and scribes and the
timewaiters too

rode as the sun over-
head passed the zenith. Their
drive was a spirit that
none could subdue.

Dust from their coconuts
rose up behind them - a
cloud that was visible
clear to the sea.

But something was mustard. There
shouldn't be water just
yet, but in front of them
what could that be?

Water surrounds them ex-
cept for behind and the
impracticality
dawns with a lurch.

Turning around is the
incontrovertible
way to continue and
still save the Church.

"Back whence we came but we'll
follow this inlet!" said
BlitzGirl and everyone
followed her lead.

Soon they were clear and the
quest could continue, the
clerecy making a
seaish stampede.

Up through the valley they
raced as the sun slowly
made its way westward and
sank in the sky.

Colors were gracing the
heavens, and soon to the
daylight they all would be
saying goodbye.

Onward they galloped with
coconuts clomping but
something was blocking their
path up ahead.

Only by ones could they
pass through the blockage.
This wasn't going to work
very well, as darkness fell.

Does anybody know how to rappel?
Maybe we should get a motel?
This was not something anybody could fortell.

BlitzGirl ponders much:
One by one takes far too long.
Here we cannot run.

This tao is not right.
This tao is the only tao.
We must make it right.

If we fight the sea
we must do it seaishly.
What would the Pope do?

fhorn comes to front.
Could you use antibutter?
I do not have much.

Mix it with butter.
Run far away. Don't delay.
Boom-de-yada boom!

This is intriguing.
Antibutter has power.
Seaish power wins.

BlitzGirl makes the call:
Fetch the Book of Armaments!
The tome is brought out.

Glorious music!
First Cleric will be jealous.
He must deal with it.

Read from the right page:
Tiny trebuchet of Tim.
Nice delivery.

Who is its steward?
Aluisio comes forth.
His name didn't fit.

First, hollow butter
from the Buttermongery
of Angelastic.

Next, antibutter
wrapped and placed inside the ball
How big will it boom?

Load up the bucket.
Pull with seaish strength and might.
Release for Glory.

An arc so pretty.
Look - the raptor flying past
won't know what hit it.

Heavenly choir,
a brilliant flash splits the night.
This tao is right, now.

Rapidly scrapidly
back on the coconuts,
pink boa flapping is
leading the way.

Time can't be wasted. The
darkness approaches but
so does the sea at the
end of the day.

Sunlight has faded but
still they press onwards. The
source of the megaca-
caphony's near.

Off in the distance the
mist from the rapids gives
everyone chances to
conquer their fear.

Rising, the moon casts its
light on the waterfall.
Spirituality
has its reward.

This is the largest gar-
gantuan cateract
anyone's witnessed. It
can't be ignored.

It's certain nobody's bored.
Everyone is in accord.
This is an area that has not been explored.

Safe on a high ledge
coma in shifts through the night.
Watch the stars go by.

Glowing horizon.
Mist catches the rising sun.
Dangerous beauty.

The sea has risen.
They are safe for the moment.
Not for much longer.

To be fair, "chirping mustardy" is sort of an arbitrary ratingœ. We need to establish an official scale, and then create 3 more so that there are competing standards. I propose the following

^ Awesomefully Treeish
| Awesomeful
| Treeish
| Neat
| ...Yeah...
| A bit mustardy
| Seaishly mustardy
v Chirpin' mustardy'

œWell, that's the only thing I can see wrong with it.

We have our OTW for chirping mustard. If the outsiders want to get in, I guess they are free to do so. :)
Their (the Outsider's) Wiki, however, is actually visited mostly by people who do not follow the Word of The GLR.

Pretty neat! Although surely "neat" and "treeish" are the same? Well, there are three kinds of tree, "neat", "wow" and "weird", but I was under the impression that when we use "treeish" we mean "neat", since that was the first one. Also we need "steambottlish" somewhere down the bottom, and "wowterful" somewhere near the top.

MicroBlitz report, NP1324-NP1331

Read it all, sang all the songs, admired the pics, but I'm keeping this post briefer than usual, hoping that I'll actually get closer to the present for once...

Many more manips/colorizations and OTThercomics, not gonna list them, but ⁴some! (But Whizbang, I beg you (for the umpteenth time), can you please say which OtherComic you're ottifying? Pretty please? With cake on top?)
⁷terful ottifications from Angelastic (looking forward to your performance Image - sure, yappo will do as well), mikro2nd (⁴!), airdrik!

Looks like the Beanie translation project is making good progress, thanks to tresoldi and others!

⁷tiful OTRSv3 poem, BlitzGirl! But that was almost 5 dix ago, and the epilogue sequence loop still hasn't changed... There goes that theory.
And that's quite a (slightly ɛ but) ⁴ musification, ucim!

lmjb1964 wrote:(I'm still a little bummed with yappo since he said my singing was "not bad at all," which, particularly since I was pretty insecure about posting the recording, I took to mean, "well, it doesn't suck.")

You have to remember, yappo's English, so “not bad at all” translates to “like, awesome, dude” in Californian, or “⁷, treeish⁴” (which it was!) in OTTian. Image

And there's much more stuff I wish I had the Time to respond to...

Here's frame 258 in color:
Image

Finally, the usual epilogue update. As always, let's name the five final newpix after that one frame that surely didn't appear, that must have been a nightmare, as A through E. The sequence of oldpix appearing after it is then:
    CDCBAECDAEDCBAEDCCDCBABA
    EDCBAECDAEDCBAEDCCDCBABA
    EDCBAECDAEDCBAEDCCDCBA
    DB
    DEBCEADECACDABDECDCDABAB
    DEBCEADECACDABDECDCDAB
    ED
    BADECBCBDCAECDBABABADCED
    BADECBCBDCAECDBABABADCED
    BADECBCBDCAECDBABABADCED
    BADECBCBDCAECDBABABADCED
    BADECBCBDCAECDBABABADCED
    BADECBCBDCAECDBABABADCED
    BADECBCBDCAECDBABABADCED
So no change, the same 24-pix cycle for over a wix now. Image

Also nice to be having some OTTer-ONGs again from Latent22!

BlitzGirl summed up nicely everything I had typed up. Quoting her is much more efficient. ;) Steakish, err'body!

Hahaha, one of my absolutely favorite things about Dino Comics is when Ryan leaves either the 2nd or the last frames blank and it conveys as shock or surprise on T-Rex's face. I think you captured that brilliantly here, Prof. Grumbles. That last frame he just can't believe there's a chorus of grapevine, grapevine so he's standing there in shock. I don't care that the pictures haven't changed in the 7 years I've been reading it. Still cracks me up every time. TREEISH. :)

No need to delete your old post - the more the merrier! Everyone's take on a frame or comic is different. Remember BlitzGirl's prayer:
Spoiler:
I have seen many wonders on my Quest, and this I have learned: Time is not absolute. Though dedicated forum-dwellers may debate names to a Period fresh to their eyes, a weary wanderer may come to the same TimeFrame many longpix later seeing it as but a flash in the long, long thread of Time. While some among us hold fast to the heels of the Now, posting with immediacy and brevity, there are still others at the same moment following 10 newpages back, or 50, or 300. Those of us who experienced the great Fading in real-Time have shared an experience those that follow will never quite match, just as we ourselves cannot comprehend the madness that struck in the early quickpix, or during the Madness itself.

Yet these divisions do not separate us, but make us more powerful. As grains of Sand(semencancercoffeebabies) in a Sandcastle, this needle-pulled thing works best when we are not all of the same shape. Our quirks clasp us together all the more strongly, so that when we Wait for it together - whatever Time we may travel, whatever sect we may splinter, whatever graph or song or hat we share - we are not alone. For though Time may scatter us among the pastposts and the Present, in the end, it is also what brought us to this mad, mad, glorious home in the first place.
Besides, i thought your version was treeish.

Yeah, the new letters you want are F, G, H, I, J....

Wouldn't it be treeish if we got that!
