Spoiler:
Today my childish laughter falls away
The stakes were real; we won’t go back some day
With a knot of bitter worry in my eyes
And a tangled mess of thoughts, and things we can’t say
No time to say, we won’t say our goodbyes

No no no no / take me back home
No no no no / take me away
Bring her 'round slow / no no no no
Tie her up right / I'll sail round the night
I'll dock when it's day
No no no no / I got no home
No no no no / only away
So bring her 'round slow / no no no no
Don’t know where I'll land
but I'll unclench my hands
I'm willing to stay

So sail around, sail around, to the edge of the world
Let the waves break the crest of the fear
when we’re spilled to the grass hills, we’ll build our new castles
And we'll grow, into our new frontier
And don’t forget, don’t forget, don’t forget what we had here

Build with me, the time has run too fast
Let’s hold on to this feeling while it lasts
And when the land disturbs our dream, we’ll wake
But for now we’ve sands of home, small grains of break
We'll take our break, until it’s passed…

Oh, no no no no / Now it’s time to move on
No no no no / There’s not enough air
So bring her 'round slow / no no no no
Fold up the maps
If home’s through these gaps
Why bother with where?
No no no no no no no / I got no home
No no no no / only a way
So bring her 'round slow / no no no no
The water's not clear
But I've washed ashore here
And I'm willing to stay

So sail around, sail around, to the edge of the world
Homeward bound to the edge of the land
Lead us into the grass hills, we’ll build our new castles
Without caring how much is planned
And don’t forget, don’t forget, don’t stop if you don’t understand

I’m just a kid, who’s scarcely learned to stand.
I’ve spent my whole life bathed in water and in sand
The sea has swilled the only home I’ve known
The sea and world I knew
are thoroughly gone.
They have all gone, they’ve gone yet grown.

go go go, go go go
Sail around, sail around, to the edge of the world
Let the waves break the crest of the fear
Ride your will through the grass hills, we’ll build our new castles
And we'll grow, as will our new frontier
And don’t forget, don’t forget, don't forget, don’t but let’s see what’s through here…
see what's through here…
see what's through here…

(repeat)

That's ⁷terful, Angelastic!

I wonder when I'll read this post. The thread can't be moving so fast now that the comic's over... can it?

Well, "not fast" is a relative term... but welcome, and Randalspeed on your blitz!
I totally know what mscha was talking about. Go away for about 12 nopix and see all the ketcup you need to do, then tell me it's moving slowly. (I know, I should never go away for that long!) So, I ketchup, spend a nopix or two in the present, then sink into the past again. It's an endless cycle..but it's ok. I won't complain about it because there is so much awesomeness included. Too many OTTifications and OTTHerCOmics (and bumperstickers, and a cool colorification) to mention. Suffice it to say I enjoyed everything immensely.

Some of those trippy gifs were really, well. trippy. Hurt my brain...

That tsunami video was wild. Note to self: if the water crashed a bus into a bridge, it's probably time to RUN. I would not have been standing there idly by. I was watching that video at the same time I was listening to the instrumental Nightwish piece yappo posted (would work for bellydancing, btw!) and it fit the video really well. Made it seem even more dramatic, which is saying something.

There was other stuff, and I loved it all.

Hi, umm, yes, I'm calling to have PORN installed in my house? Yes, will that go directly to the TV? And the computers? Ok good, now I hear you also have a phone package for PORN. Now I hear that PORN won't work on my phone if the power goes out, is that true, because I'm not sure I like that. Uh huh. How much was this again? Wow PORN is expensive, I might as well just go out and buy a hooker!

The product was never finished ... But it would have had 100M Ethernet to the home the phone should have operated for 72 hours on standby and 4 hours talking if the power went. Target cost of our part (which ended at the box in the home) was £100 per user, we would have succeded had it been ordered in sufficient volume (500,000 lines a year). The killer was the cost of digging the streets to lay the fibre.

What the heck is going on here? There's beer and baby chirp beanies everywhere... and everything smells a little weird.

Maybe if I push that beanie tower over to that broken ceiling tile, I can climb back to 1361...

I overlooked Time at first. I think it was a week or so in that I found out about it. I was trying to search for a history of time and I found the wiki and the link to geekwagon, which I used as my viewer from the sandcastle days. I saw some weird things on the wiki and eventually found the thread and have been an on and off resident of the OTT since.
I wrote a book exploring the nature of identity and loss of self! And another book about babies!

Yup. The UK and US governments are both really big on mustarding up the internet for everyone by censoring it to chirp these days *sigh*

At the recommendation of a friend, I read it some years back. I found it to be totally devoid of persuasive power. I can't remember specifically what I found wrong with it, but I do remember that none of his arguments carried any weight with me. He (or she?) seemed to be making things up and using big words, but the logic behind them was antibaobabish. Mainly I think the evidence was very weak, and the interpretation of the evidence he did provide was shaky.

Some people think we are conscious.
Therefore there must have been a time when consciousness appeared (if you think we are conscious).
If this occurred after the creation of our earliest stories, and if the stories maintained some integrity while they were being passed down from generation to generation before they were finally written down then it should be possible to detect the emergence of consciousness by the sorts of changes in story telling that Julian points out between early Homer and late Homer.

So, are you saying Julian was wrong because consciousness never emerged or are you saying he just got the timing wrong?

The only change is that it's now (or soon will be) default-on rather than default-off. Really annoying, and no good for anyone. Gahh.

I'd say by about a few hundred thousand years at least. Dogs are (have a certain degree of) conscious(ness); they lack our memory capacity, our language skills, our ability for music and dance, our capacity for learning by example and explanation, and certain other capacities that we have, but they are self-aware to a certain extent, and they certainly feel emotions and have personalities. This is a big can of worms... I'm not sure we want to open this here :)

Anyhow, welcome back, Helper! Have you seen the OTTer map yet?

And what ever happened to CMYK?
Some of us the OTTers thought CMYK and Helper were one and the same (due to a posting frequency graph, if my memory is uncorrupted) and I don't recall the issue being resolved.

Post Post-Preview Addition:
Neat OTTCs, Slinches and EternalDensity; they each hold much truth (though ED's would be better with the OneTrueFont).

How horrifying 0_0. We're... geolocated... look, I don't mind the dataminining per se, but if I start getting spam for OTTers and mustard, somebody's getting slapped. Or at least talked at with displeasure.

I still don't know if I'm actually CMYK; I've never seen him/her/xim posting while I am, so it could be possible... It would explain the bumps on my head and the dead mouse batteries I notice when I wake up. I was Google Bot for a while, although that's not CMYK...

So, what's been up?

Oh no, the Messiah is back! The end is nigh! Repent! Repent!
Oh, about Blitzing: don't worry. The Wiki isn't complete, but if it's important it's probably there.
How did your finals go?

Well, I actually thought the end happened a while ago... and from the look of things, repenting won't do much good (dear Ra, they now have semenbaconcancercoffee in hose form)... but it still sounds good ^_^.
The wiki; marginally less frightening than the actual forums .
As for finals, I didn't fail anything (which, you know, is always good) and finished with something like a 3.86 GPA (or something). As for state tests, I barely passed English (apprntly i dont englishes too good), but I did pass a Biology test for a course I didn't even take. All in a while, everything went as good as could possibly be expected. More over, I only have one mandatory state test left to take :D :D :D.

I just had a really sad squirpy moment. This young squirpy that's been living In our parking lot at work just, well, just proved why a parking lot isn't a good place for a squirpy to live. Wasn't my car, thank goodness. I went over to see if maybe he was just injured. Now I wish I hadn't. Can't unsee.

Sorry for the bummer post, but I was really sad and needed to share it with someone who would understand. Particularly if I use the word "squirpy."

I'm afraid it's caught in a loop...after I returned to the Present with the Whistle of Temporal Harmony, cmyk took it back and then gave it to his past self again. I'm not sure how to get it back now.

Oh. This shouldn't be that bad. It's a set of coordinates, probably used to find specific letters on the solved version of the most recent puzzle (at least, it seems to be, based on the fact that the numbers only range from 1 to 9 inclusive). Now all we have to do is find someone who wasn't too lazy to ignore the puzzle. That should be a challenge.

This one, you mean? Unfortunately, it doesn't have a unique solution. (17 clues can – just – be enough, but not in this case.)

I tried putting in the known letters of the most recent sudoku, using the lower left corner as the "origin" for the grid. That must be wrong, because F_IM and _W_M can't be real words, given the available letters (WAITFORME).

Molpy hunting update Image

Here's an updated animation of the right-hand slope of Lucky's hill.
Image
... and a diff version:
Image

The snapy is still moving towards the left. But with Lucky on the left side of the hill, there's no confrontation yet.
No mustard fixes; the surface area of frame 5 is still m*starded-up, and the stuff in the sky on frame 2 is still there as well.

Also, the coordinates in puzzle 3 don't fit in either the sudoku in puzzle 1 or the sentances in puzzle 4. (3,3) in 3 is k, which is a single letter word in 4. That doesn't seem right. In 1 (3,3) is either where the I is or if you do count from the bottom left then (4,1) is a E in puzzle 1, but a y in puzzle 3...

It may not be solvable yet... though one could try to brute force solve puzzle 4 by just guessing letters. (3,3) is most likely I or A, for example... Movie time!

If we consider computer languages, especially Lisp, the word order usually is, as a way of speaking, VSO: first you use the command (the "action"), then you specify where this action will be performed (the subject) and then you add everything else you might have. But GLR might have hacked most of it together with Perl.

Woah. It almost seems that you suggested this in jest.... but is it not very plausible that he used his favorite language (Perl) as a model? Good job identifying it. Looking forward to the crack.
