Ketchupping on my comments and replies to pastposts again.

On NP1515 we have various devious spoilers and a wingish OTColoured frame by adnapemit.

NP1516: Neat #1271 ottercomic by BlitzGirl. Then she is lamenting the lack of an ottification of #1270 - EternalDensity had already made one on NP1505, but it hadn't been added to the wiki yet at the time - and two further #1270 ottercomics promptly ensue.

NP1518:
ggh wrote:Time for an experiment!

This is the first animated gif I've ever made!

Totally awesomeful animated OTC manip! After a bit of inner debate, I added it on the wiki to "OTC Manips" rather than "OTColored", even though it might have been justifiable to put it on the latter page too.

NP1519: BlitzGirl's mome decree is being followed in abundance and yields a seaish wave of song ottifications, with BlitzGirl herself setting a fine example and creating several herself.

taixzo wrote:Hmm, what song do I know well enough to ottify right now?

Oh, not sure if it's been done yet, but a former Africanist, here is:

Africa
Based on "Africa" by Toto.
Spoiler:
I hear the ONGs echo in the night
But they hear only clicking from the keyboard's desolation
They understand not my delight
As I am here and working upon this ottification
I stopped an OTTer along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, "Wait for it, we're waiting here with you"

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from here
There's nothing that a raptorcat would ever make me fear
I thought that Time took place in Africa!
Gonna take some time to make the things we never have

The molpies cry out into the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
Sure as Zanclean floods will fill the Mediterranean with the sea
I seek to power the thread of Time
Frightened of the thing it might become!

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from here
There's nothing that a raptorcat would ever make me fear
I thought that Time took place in Africa!
Gonna take some time to make the things we never have

(Instrumental!)

Wait for it, we're waiting here with you!

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from here
There's nothing that a raptorcat would ever make me fear
I thought that Time took place in Africa!
I thought that Time took place in Africa!
I thought that Time took place in Africa!
I thought that Time took place in Africa!
I thought that Time took place in Africa!
Gonna take some time to make the things we never have

http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1735

Also: Totally awesomeful. (Notwithstanding the fact that "Africa" had already been ottified before.)
And thanks for the introduction to Perpetuum Jazzile.

Petite, my treat.
Each and every thing with you is so neat,
La petite.

Petite, my treat,
Chaque chose en vous est si très soignée,
Si très soignée

Who are you who are you who are you?
You and you're beret
But until that day
I will say some French words so maybe
You'll understand.

Petite, my treat,
Chaque chose en vous est si très soignée,
Si très soignée

We need you we need you we need you,
Save us from the sea,
Be Chekov's gun for me.
'til you do I'll wait for you to
Return to the scene.

I love you...

I thank you, I thank you, I thank you.
You saved us all somehow.
And also our castle, wow.
Where are we now? C'mon let's
See what's through here

Petite, my treat,
Chaque chose en vous est si très soignée,
Si très soignée

I really hope you actually speak French, My Petite.

Note: the French is probably very wrong, I just used google translate, and it
Sounded good. Feel free to fix it for me.

Really cute. A little unfortunate though that the title is identical to my "Reet Petite" ottification.
Maybe I should after all have gone with my other idea after all to call that one "Neat Petite".
Also it seems a little odd that the singer would use the formal form of address, "Chaque chose en toi" (instead of "vous") would seem more natural to me. However, my French is quite limited, I don't feel competent to "fix" the French part of the lyrics.

BlitzGirl wrote:Punsaw...VITSSÅGEN, JA!
To the tune of Seesaw, Margery Daw
Spoiler:
Punsaw...VITSSÅGEN, JA!
Yikes, you'd better run faster!
When BlitzGirl's away the punners will play
But when she's here puns won't get past her!

What's especially cute is that the Swedish pronunciation of "ja" actually rhymes perfectly with "saw" (the German "ja" wouldn't).

And BlitzGirl has also ottified Othercomic 1272 - LotR meets xkcd Time. Does that mean Beanish is... Sindarin?

yappobiscuits wrote:One last one before I molpy down.

Yes, I ottified my own song… that's allowed, right?
Spoiler:
Hey kids! Let's wait for it!

I'm gonna get my laptop and I'll make ottifications
Of some really funny things and then I'll post them on the thread
A picture of a molpy in a rather amusing hat
Or possibly a squirpy throwing S&Ms at that!

And attach it in a picture with a redundakitty

This one's really neat too! (As, of course, are also those I haven't quoted.)

And ucim makes a treeish ottification of "Time after Time". This one had also been done before, but with a title like that, I guess it just begs to be ottified over and over. :)

All right, enough ketchup for todip. A reply to a presentpost:

Can be done. Is there a list or something?

Now, as I have repeatedly hinted at before, for your enjoyment (hopefully) I proudly present my own newest song ottification:

Beanie
(based on "Eagle" by ABBA)

Spoiler:
They came walking from faraway
Now I'm under their spell
I'd love knowing the stories that they tell
They've seen places beyond my land
And they've found new horizons
They speak strangely, I don't understand

And I wish I knew Beanish
And I wish I'd find out new things

Wanna know, know
What makes baobabs grow
Like a Beanie who learns all with ease
Know, know
Everything there's to know
About mountains and rivers and trees
And the reason there's salt in the seas

From Rosetta I'd learn all day
All the knowledge she'd bring
I'd have questions and she'd know everything
There's no limit to what I'd learn
I'd advance ever higher
And one day I'd teach Beanies in return

Can I really learn Beanish?
Can I really find out new things?

Wanna know, know
What makes baobabs grow
Like a Beanie who learns all with ease
Know, know
Everything there's to know
About mountains and rivers and trees
And the reason there's salt in the seas

We're sorry, this feature hasn't been implemented yet.

Note the use of the second person pronouns in the original message. I make no assertions about the mechanics of my own noggin, only about that of the ambiguous "reader". My own brain is, as a matter of Turing incompleteness, unable to simulate itself and as such I can only gain approximate understanding of my own workings.

On the subject of glass chips, I unfortunately have not yet built enough sandcastles to reachieve those boosts. Molpying down is a bit of a setback, though I suspect the chronotech may make it worth the while.

This is 010 reporting.
Spoiler:
011 had an exam on digital circuits. Result is likely to be within acceptable range.
001 is considering writing a new short story before retrying to focus on Gibraltar. Prospect seems good.
101 is currently playing with the receiver. He seems to have found a 9-second counter at 5056; the pattern is 23/1/23/1/23… we're investigating.
111 is trying to perform thought injection on 001's mind. I consider this highly unlikely to succeed.
110 is waiting and wondering what he's supposed to do. He's pretty bored in here, actually.
100 is massively tired. We need to adjust his timescale.

He's not in the basement - he's molpying around in Otherthreads (specifically the Forum Hotdogs section). However, he does pop in on the OTW now and then so I suppose he can be forgiven for his heresy.

Yes you've only paid me one of five kitties, so I've given you a klein bottle as encouragement.

They're not True Hotdogs without M*stard. Speaking of which, Waveney found a truly egregious sample which is messing up the number display if you have something with a 0 after the decimal point followed by nonzeroes. That's not going to be fun to fix.

Indeed. I suppose that technically they are Otherhotdogs in comparison to the One True Hotdog that is Sandcastle Builder.

Technically it's not the One True Hotdog. It's not like a Hotdog Vendor only dispenses a single Hotdog and I'm not the only Vendor. Even your crosswords are mini-Hotdogs (and some definitely came with a little mustard :P)

Hotdog VendONG time!

Code: Select all

### 2.01
- fixed some wrong variable names which don't seem to be doing much anyway
- I'll test those some other time and maybe remove them if they aren't needed
- Supposedly they make sure boost descriptions update after you click a button on them
- Fixed mustard where 0s after decimal points went missing. i.e 1.01 was displayed as 1.1 when showing 2 decimal places
- Saw that Orteil seems to have fixed this issue a completely different way :P
- Added a bunch more badges
- Fixed a new mustard I introduced: prevent unnecessary trailing 0s after the decimal point

Basically, filling with tiny unimportant numbers and BADGES which most of you can't get yet :P

Only doing one newpage today - I'm tired and stressed and thus feel that lightsabering my way across a galaxy far far away is a good way to destress. Still, I can't not read at least a LITTLE of the OTT, so here I am!

There is debate on Aubron's gender, and a mention that the #1 deficiency of the English language is the lack of a proper neutral pronoun (instead of just reusing "they"). As a nongendered person, I heartily agree. Hoorah!

...Really that and talk of Aubron's page vs. explainxkcd is all there is on page 40. And now, off to sever and cauterize some limbs!

We should buy some and then when we have a big OTTer party on a beach in the south of France some time in the future we can make sandcastles and launch these at them.

Indeed, I figured there had to be a proper treebucket on there somewhere.

What, your badge will have been the least blitzing musician ever! Chirp everything, redundant Rosetta might be overbearing. The not quick Department of Redundancy Department runs. Chirping mustard, the most amazing writer in the Mediterranean and active Part kinda chases Brick which decyphers (behind the dirty nothing) overbearing B-3 to the active wolpy, statistically speaking. My pointer is going to be the least seaish man (even taking Leeroy Jenkins into consideration) which carries the Pope underneath the mustardy flutterbee over White Bunny. Expando could be other Gray Bun. Oh, my redundant tool unties (from my dirty boost) Rose and RAZOR but I don't believe a single word of it. Your nothing is going to be amazing leading to the tragic events of today. Finally, yes, old-fashioned Leopard questions (behind chilled Forelock which kinda uploads the dragonflopy near your boost), and destroys a Blitzer, and doesn't afraid of the viperraptor.

Oh I still haven't fixed the missing break character in the Redundant Information :(

*sticks "randomness" in the subject too* [ETA added doublequotes]

ETA post milestone for yappo!
And I'm exactly 1010 posts ahead :D
