The resolution on my laptop at work was 1920x1200. The 24" Dell flatpanel monitor I had attached to extend my desktop was the same.

This was my background. I had to go to NASA's Hubble website to find an image big enough to use. Then I worked out the scaling and offset to account for the difference in screen sizes and height so that next to each other, they appeared as one continuous image.

It was goddamned glorious.

(I did have to do a little bit more tweaking to get it to align properly, but it's less glorious-looking on it's own after those changes.)

Thisis my current desktop. But I might change it to one of the comics. I also might take a print screen of the desktop I had before this one - it was a SGR frame where Shelly's making sammiches. I just found that one really funny

Also I have loads of crap on my desktop, so I would want to get rid of all that before I posted it here - gives me an excuse to do it, anyways.

the pentagram? it's from the loading screen in a game called painkiller..

i thought it looked cool so i print screened it and touched it up a bit/changed the color... there was a loading bar overlapping the right side so i kind of winged it with my noob photo editing skills

you could always crop it out of the picture?

it's pretty old and has been through a lot of edits, so it has gotten worse/better over time...

It's from Chaoscope which is a great program. I have a 1248x1024 version which I currently use as my background, along with the out-of-the-box steel-gray WinXP theme. I have many other good Chaoscope renders which I'll probably switch to in time.

Closer still! The ones on the left aren't quicklaunch buttons, actually, they're the... hm... "currently active screens" buttons? Only the names aren't in them in text because the panel is vertical.

You thought it was a big ladybeetle? I just imagined I could see cell detail and even chloroplast, you know, so I think to see that sort of microscopic detail on a leaf, if you put the ladybeetle to scale wouldn't it be small? I really have no idea. I just woke up, and I do not really know what leaves other than our leaves look like, and ours are all really hard and tough and waxy-ish. It might not even be chloroplast or anything. I just like to babble.

I didn't know those icons were KDE... Shame on me! I picked the one with the prettiest home, since I'm a girl and I care about that stuff
