I stared at Megan, my jaw slightly ajar. A tense moment passed, each second becoming a Newpix in the length of time I experienced it. Finally, I was ready to reply.
"I doubt it," I said, cooler than I needed to. "I don't remember ever being here before,"
"Okay," Megan said, calmly. "I thought I recognised you, that's all. Shall we move on?"
We trekked for a while, in silence. But it was getting dark now, and there were no electric lights to light the way. Cueball and Megan started setting up camp. I tried to help, but I had only been camping once before, and the equipment had changed eleven thousand years after. Cueball and Megan seemed to see this, and both directed me to do simple tasks while they undertook the more difficult tasks with ease. I felt rather ashamed of my tent inabilities at that moment.
When it was set up, Cueball lit up a campfire, and we sat around it.
"So you come from another Time?" Megan asked.
"Yep," I replied. "Before I came here it was late in 2013,"
The pair looked at me blankly.
"11,000 years ago,"
"That is a long time ago," Cueball said. "We were talking about it, weren't we?"
"Yep," I said.
"Yes?" Megan asked.
"Yeah," Cueball said. "You were talking about this big place that you would go to daily and which gave you more knowledge, weren't you?"
"Yes," I said. I repeated everything I had said to Cueball on the subject to Megan.
