I blame Mr. Randall.

So, two posts happened between me opening the page and clicking to reply? Good, keep 'em coming!

I had one of those, BlitzGirl. He died last year. I was away (here, I think).

BTW, this is the punishment-free page.

I hope that they use recycled paper for that project, at least.

I injured my finger slightly while failing to hang a bike on mondip, though that was on a hook on the garage wall, not from rafters.

A lot of strange looks

Postby HES » Fri Feb 21, 2014 3:02 am UTC

I've been quietly enjoying the thread today. I wasn't here. I was busy. Shhh. I'm taking a short break: with 11/20 nopix to go I'm 60% done, which would be good progress even without my slight diversion earlier.

Earlier:

I popped down the road to do a quick favour for my housemate who was running late. We were acquiring a piano, with the intention to wheel it home - it was only a 10 minute walk, after all.

Let's just say piano wheels run on tarmac about as well as a sandcastle withstands a flood. Today I learned that you can move a piano, so long as the number of people plus the number of remaining wheels is at least 5. Anyway, it only took three nopix, several injuries, and the help of a passing drunk. The important part is that it was free.

What a fun story!
How does it sound?

Did it come complete with strings?

Well, one thing is that the bags are still there. I don't know if these are floatation bags or cargo; if they are cargo, then they were never unpacked and these ONGs are taking place shortly after landing. But somebody better come back and unpack! I don't even see a rope to keep the raftcastle in place.

I wonder if they are going to sail off in it to "the other island" with the bacon castle.

I went to open the OTT toxip, and noticed that for the first time since its inception, it wasn't one of the top 2 ICT threads on the list (it was #4!). I'm not sure what this means, except I guess that it has slowed down enough for people to actually post in OtherComic threads.

I saw a pastpostcouragement from the LAST time I was in full-Blitz mode:
Spoiler:
Marsh'n wrote:
Kieryn wrote:I would expect to see an increase in new posters during the exciting cat mauling episode, but it's probably too early yet for the new posts to have passed the initial quarantine.

Or to feel like we had fulfilled our blitzing quota adequately to delurk. Thanks Kieryn, your post pushed me over the edge to say hello. And thanks j3 for the awesome graph that inspired this. And thanks to all for giving me the feeling of walking into a family reunion.

I'll be back with a signature and the like when I am fully enabled. But for now, back to the blitzing...

3 cubed, but not diced or julienned, I hope.

Edit for blitzers!
Thanks to Vytron and macraw83, I have come to realize that if I put an edit here, you may be the very first to see it. Since I don't want to spoiler anything for you, I will say nothing exciting, but happy blitzing, and we hope to see you soon. Lacking another term for this approach, by reference to "Easter Eggs," I'm going to call this a Marsh'nmellow.Image

Edit for paradox:
If I am correctly your current location, Flado, you might catch up to this post at some point before I reach the present. If so, I would like to future/past request that the past/future Patriarch dismember me from the Western Paradox Church. I figure that someone who is no longer Patriarch is the (in)appropriate person to ask for such a (dis)favor. Thanks in retro-advance! And if you're no longer here, then perhaps I will retroactively declare myself the new old Patriarch. Though perhaps I should retire from the position before I take it.

I would imagine that this edit (from np3395) was made at the End of Time, given the blatant foreshadowing. I now have a feasible target in sight that I hope to reach before the Madness!

Also, I cannot believe you guys. I found this link in a couple signatures: http://castle.chirpingmustard.com. It has eaten a lot of time that I otherwise could have spent Blitzing. Also, it is curiously similar to the Cookie Clicker... which, if you are like me with too little time and too many things to do, is probably a bad idea.

And, finally, thank you BlitzGirl, for showing me that redundancy spoilers may not always be as they appear....

Interesting that macraw got sighotdogged into Sandcastle Builder. I don't think C**kie Clicker was mentioned in the OTT until the NP1400s or thereabouts, so that's a treeish blitzer shortcut.

Ooh, thanks! TPP is glorious. Reminds me vaguely of the OTT - you need a lot of patience, and it even seems to have its own religion.
Also, Megan's first words in the Othercomic are "I love you"! Obviously significant. Image

It's also redundantly redundant, slow-moving at times (at least, the focus of their affections is), and requires spreadsheets to keep track of.

ZOMG THE DARKENING!!!

Sorry... I told myself that reading one more page before coma would be fine... but then the corner was darker. And then the next thing I knew it was almost a full newpix later, and now it's definitely comatime.

Also... is it just me, or do the newpixbot costs advance through the Fibonnaci sequence?

It's not just you, but you're either going to have to discover an off-thread resource or blitz another few hundred newpages to find that out... :P

I forgot how exciting the Darkening was when it first began. When you watch the OTC at a raptorish speed that bit is quickly subsumed by the sunset and Long Night.

I found that hilarious. But, I may be a little loopy from spending a couple of nopix watching TPP. It is very early-OTT-ish.

I was wondering the same thing. The blitz must be having some weird effects on him.
I was wondering how long the fora would keep my old avatar when I set a new one. It was deleted before 8 am today. The appearance of this avatar is a bit related to the nice packs of steam bottles I'm currently receiving. I'll change it soon.

Also, Bad Hair Man's avatar is different from all others:

Thought you'd already be too loopy from the OTT for such things to affect you at all... :P

Anyway. I've been up all night working on a thing. This thing:
yappobiscuits wrote:Skywater was forecast all dip (and all wip... and all eternity...) but contrary to the forecast, there hasn't been a drop of skywater all day! I also took advantage of this and went on an adventure myself. As I often do. But this time was different - I documented it on video, inspired by ED's molpy hunting, and y'all will be able to see it soon!

...and it's turned out to be a full half hour (TV episode length) thing. Full of treeish things. It's not totally finished yet, but here's a teaser in the form of a screenshot of the title.

Me too - I was giggling throughout but that was the grapevine. Steakish, yappo!

I've not been watching OTP TTP, but I have been working all night. My housemate just molpied up, it's always unsettling when that happens.

Any craziness on my part is merely a figment of my imagination.
