### 10 Word Puzzles

1. My four lines all meet at a single place,
I hide nothing behind this outer face.
Although you first met me just recently,
I'll introduce myself eternally.
Spoiler:
crazyjimbo: The ℝ2 plane

2. Everyone wants a break from me,
Attempting to charm me is often self-deceiving.
Some consider me to be quite the lady,
Although I tend to run out and go streaking.
Spoiler:
EdgarJPublius: Luck

3. Turning my back to you is out of the question.
I'm sometimes half full, but never half empty.
Artificiality plagues my every companion,
So I play with the waves and the sea.
Spoiler:
EdgarJPublius: The Moon

4. I have tweve faces and forty digits. What am I?

5. You throw it out when you need it and take it in when you don't.
Spoiler:
bigsim: an anchor
VTHodge: The Bat Signal

6. A warrior is up on high,
Canals are only wishful thinking,
A morsel to get you by,
Crimson in its slowly sinking.
Spoiler:
GreedyAlgorithm: Mars

7. What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in a thousand years?
Spoiler:
Joe: the letter M

8. Though in theory I am always behind you,
I am also around to remind you.
But in case it's your way
To give me too much say,
I can hamper or, even worse, blind you.
Spoiler:
oxoiron: the past / history

9. What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps?
Spoiler:
Joe: a river

10. What part of a bird never flies,
It swims in the ocean but always stays dry?

Guess for 4.

Spoiler:
4. The types of US currency, from a penny to the \$1000.00 bill? Including the golden dollar, so there's 12 faces even with the repeats of Washington and Lincoln.
Let's have a fervent argument, mostly over semantics, where we all claim the burden of proof is on the other side!

Spoiler:
It works without the aces, because each ten has two digits. This is also predicated on each face card having only one face, but I think it's a good solution.

I think the solution is correct... but personally I'd have phrased the question as 24 faces and 80 digits

### Re: 10 Word Puzzles

Why?

Spoiler:
There are only 12 face cards, and they don't always have 2 faces. A better way would have been 12 faces and 40 spots. For the A-10 can be considered spot cards.

Spoiler:
Well, in a standard pack of cards, which we really have to assume given that there are of course many non-standard packs that won't satisfy the description, all the face cards have 2 faces. It makes more sense to say 24 than 12, since far fewer packs of cards have only 12.

Oh, and there are 210 "spots" in a normal pack of cards.
