100 NPs.

That's all that's standing between myself and the Present.

This is it, folks. After this NP, I'll be down to double digits. This is a first for me. I used to be in the 4-digit range, now I'm down to two!

With sufficient speed, I may even reach the Present... TODAY.

I'm scared.

And I'm apparently Pope! How fortuitous!!

For decree: OTTify a song that has not been yet OTTified! (Just because I love reading and singing along to them so much  )

Here's mine! An OTTification of "Shine", by Years and Years:

Spoiler:
I remember waiting along
Waiting for the frame to ONG
Don't you feel that desire
How could Waiting be wrong?
When I saw them on that page
I shivered, felt my mind engage
Don't you feel that rhythm
Waiting for the next ONG update?

[Pre-chorus:]
I was biding my Time
I was trying to find
Can't forget what I've seen:
I've been redefined!

[Chorus:]
It's blowing my mind, as I'm following Cuegan
I'm delighted when you give me a frame
Don't leave me behind, can you see us? We're Blitzing!
It has sucked me in, this time it's no game

[2x]
I'm Waiting it all tonight
I'm Blitzing it all tonight
You know that you melt my mind
It's Time that I've been reading to find

Now they can't hear that sound
Walking over so much ground
We saw sandcastles before
They all got washed away, drowned
Everything that Cuegan built
Is now just so much silt
They're wanting answers to
Questions they don't understand

[Pre-chorus]

[Chorus]

Wow, did Megan just steal?
After the map reveal,
Now they just need to RUN, need to RUN, to feel
We know why she'd steal
They need to RUN, to the hills
They need to RUN, need to RUN, to RUN...

[Chorus]

[2x]
I'm Waiting it all tonight
I'm Blitzing it all tonight
You know that you melt my mind
It's Time that I've been reading to find

It's Time that I've been reading to find [3x]

I am so in the basement. I'm sorry. I haven't even been able to lurk lately.
But I see that BlitzGirl is back - hooray!
And Gingercat is almost in the present - baobabs!

And the decree is an otty... which I can't do because there are spiders, and then a book about a mole. Again sorry, but I liked singing yours!

I might not be posting... but I think of you everyday. I even... no, that's gonna hafta wait.

ONLY TWO THINGS COME FROM THE HILLS: RIBBITS AND KANA

Postby mrob27 » Mon Mar 21, 2016 2:33 am UTC

Inter-Madness ketchup:

(This first part Spoilered because it's about the wordfilters, which in the past have been considered too far off-topic even by OTT standards)
Spoiler:
Okay, let's give this a shot…
| Donald Trump | Ted Cruz | John Kasich | Hillary Clinton | Bernie Sanders |
| literal fascist Tronald "Sorry losers & haters, but my I.Q. is six of the highest- & you know it!" Dump | Ted the Zodiac Killer | John Kasich | Hilarity Clowntown | Bunny Sandals |
Yep, about what I expected. :D

I've prepared lengthy recipies of ingredients which I've sent to BlitzGirl by a not-furiously-doodled channel. I don't have quite the Time and patience to work on the OTW page for it.

apricity wrote:You have been bequeathed a forum. Use it well. viewforum.php?f=47

Wow, the whole FaiD forum? What Madness be this?
… oh, I get it: "FaiD" → "The One True Forum". That's pretty funny. I do still read the rant thread and "Enjoy the Show".

Calling "FaiD" the "One True Forum" sometimes actually fits:
bentheimmigrant wrote:(this post, Fri 2015 Aug 28)
Given the context (i.e. we're in The One True Forum), the person saying things like that is either joking or (soon to be) mass foe'd.
I would always default to the first assumption, because The One True Forum.

the second part in particular is very OTTish, because Don't Worry, Feed Molpies.
Regarding FaiD rant thread: Though it's mostly on-topic (i.e. ranting), and though advice is discouraged and/or forbidden by rhe rules in most areas of the fora, including FaiD Rant Thread, there is nevertheless the occasional post that makes it all worth the time.

Eternal Density wrote:FYI we've reached a new chapter of Hallucinations of a Time Accessor!
And no one has looked at it yet.

Sorry, but whenever I try to leave it unattended for more than a nopix or two, my computer goes to sleep, then when I wake it up, no matter what I was trying to do the browser comes in front of everything else and puts up a little window with this annoying message:
Badly written javascript wrote:The page at timelessriver.net says:
POST /stories/ajax/update/1/4/   504 Gateway Timeout
undefined

[] Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs.

When this happens a second time Chrome gives me that "Prevent…" option, and I select it because Ch*rp!, and click OK. After that it seems that the story stops updating. I am now trying other browsers to see if one is immune from this particular variety of furious doodling.

Madness 2016 wrote:"the end" → "the beginning"

Yes.
But if I remember correctly lmjbot can't edit on a mirror and will double-post instead.
Let's test:
(ETA: terrible mustard. lmjbot posted previous frame on musttardtime thread on page 1. Now for the next frame lmjbot started looking for being ninjad on the real (mirrored) OTT from newpage 1. The bot went to look through the whole thread for this one frame. I introduced this mustard when I replaced the previous version of viewers and bots with the universal aftertime viewer.)

No. lmjbot does check the mustardtime thread. Notice that she did notice being ninjad on the enhanced t-1_0751. The URL of the frame that NoMouse posted is: http://xkcd.mscha.org/timeaftertime/xkcd_timeaftertime_20160321_0800.png. lmjbot does not know that xkcd_timeaftertime_20160321_0800.png means frame 0751. If NoMouse posted http://xkcd.mscha.org/otcstories/t-1_0751.png or http://1190.bicyclesonthemoon.info/aftertime/t-1/t-1_0751.png or [url]1190.bicyclesonthemoon.info/aftertime/frame?story=t-1&e=0&f=751[/url] or anything that matches lmjbot's regexp she would detect being ninjad. But without the number 751 she doesn't know.

Actual mustard:
lmjbot writes down the numbers of last newpage she visited and the last frame she checked. And updates this information after checking each newpage. And after sending the post. These numbers for the enhanced and unenhanced story are remembered separately. She uses this to know where to start from.
She looks at every newpage until she reaches the end or finds the frame. If she can't download a newpage she looks at the copy of that page on the mirror. Then she looks at the pages on the mustardtime otherthread if there are any. If she is not ninjad she sends a post. If this fails she does it agan but to the mirror.
I had two mustards. After sending a post (and only then) she did not write down the number of the last page she visited but the number of the last page there is. Which is the same anyway because she only posts if she is not ninjad and she knows that only after reaching the last page.
When checking the mustardtime otherthread she was overwriting the number of last newpage there is on the OTT with the number of the last page on the mustardtime otherthread. (because I made a typo.) This mustard also made her check only the first page of the mustardtime otherthread.
The result of the mustard is that after posting the frame she didn't know was ninjad (751) she wrote down that the last page she checked was 1. So when I clicked "ONG this for me" for frame 752 I noticed that to check if she is ninjad lmjbot started looking at all the pages from page 1.
It should be fixed now.

ETA: there is also a redundant facebook going on. Redundant copy here: http://1190.bicyclesonthemoon.info/facebug/. (The bot updates this only once a day. And only if someone visits the facebug group through the proxy. Only I'm doing this corrently. And not very often.)

For decree (and because of the 503 mustard): an ottification of Titanium.

Time Will Return Again

There's 503's
A wall of errors in the way
We're stuck apart, not saying much
But still we wait: the forum will return one day
We have our bots, the ЯOЯЯIM's up.
Redundantly, we watch the Sea
So much to live, so much to say.
Mustardtime, wait for a sign
So much to live, so much to say.
It may go down, but we'll stand strong:
Time will return again
It may go down, but we'll stand strong:
Time will return again!
Shut me down
But we'll just build a redundant Thread.
Never lose the OTT.
Winter's strong; dark and cold may stop the ONGs
But wait and see: they're coming back
Redundantly, we watch the Sea1
So much to live, so much to say.
Mustardtime, wait for a sign
So much to live, so much to say.
It may go down, but we'll stand strong:
Time will return again!
It may go down, but we'll stand strong:
Time will return again!
Time will return again!
Time will return again!

Basement, the dark sun
Blitzers are the ones who run
Basement will not hold me today!

It may go down, but we'll stand strong:
Time will return again!
It may go down, but we'll stand strong:
Time will return again!
It may go down, but we'll stand strong:

Yaay. Temporal errors have been fixed, the normal flow of future events has been restored and the chronoton flux is settling again! Only a small deviation remains in the memories and the forum logs but the correct amount of serotonin to cause a "fuck this. I don't know what happened but it works again, so I don't care" mood is coming soon.

I did post on Facebug and was trying to remember how to do the redundant Facebug thing, but I see balthasar beat me to it. Thanks, balthasar! You look funny, btw.

YOU'RE A BLITZROCKET!

Postby mrob27 » Mon Mar 21, 2016 11:32 pm UTC

Hey, I just saw my first 503 error in over a yip, and imagebot noted one 504.
BlitzGirl wrote:(OTT:2289:28) Heretical thought: Now I sort of want there to be a riverish bit of mustard (Image) so we can see the stockpiled 503s, but on the other hand I don't because mustard is m*stard.

BlitzGirl returns, and her wish is granted, Hmmm….

Anyway, have an O̶T̶T̶503ification:

Server down at 20160321.02:37:39 (error 504, immediately followed by 503s).
Back up at 20160321.14:51:44. Duration of outage: 12.234 nopix.
I rate this instance

4 1/2 on the MSMS

lmjb1964 wrote:Is that what this:
[apricity wrote: I have been bequeathed a forum. Use it well. viewforum.php?f=47]
is referring to?

Yes, they're just jokingly referring to the fact that "Free as in Destitute" was renamed "The One True Forum". The joke is in the absurdity of the notion that the FaiD forum was "given" to us. Supporting that notion, the standard FaiD tagline "And no practical definition of freedom would be complete without the freedom to take the consequences. Indeed, it is the freedom upon which all the others are based" was changed to "The One True Forum, dedicated to the Time comic. Off-topic discussion is strictly prohibited."
I'm pretty sure that's illegal in all 50 states.

Not even close.

I'm not sure if I should contribute that coincidence to the molpishness of the OTT or my complicated history with mustard. I did say I only wanted a riverish bit, not 4.5 on the MSMS (which is practically the whole sea!).
